Masterpiece.
My current addiction. Every facet of my taste is catered for: musicality, electronic roots, nods to old rave music, breakbeats, non-linear arrangement and layered tapestries of carefully chosen instrumentation and sampling. The entire album is a joy to listen to from beginning to end. It's accessible, yet alternative. And I'd urge you to treat yourself.I am incredibly surprised by RA's mediocre review, rating 2.6/5 - I spend vast amounts time and money listening to new music, and this hits all the spots. Truly my favourite album of 2015 so far.

nicely!!
As a previous reviewer remarked I too have waited a very long time for this, and it was well worth the wait Jamie xx has developed his own uniquestyle which taps into a whole different range in dance/chillout If your a constant evolver in dance as I am since the late eighties early ninetiesthis takes it to the next level, nicely!!

Great album, poor quality vinyl
Unfortunately my copy has some pretty awful noise on it. Mostly okay but one track is particularly noisy, it's a quiet track which only makes the noise worse. Shame really. Excellent album though!

Good grooves!
Quirky dance type music but gently so. Last track is beautifully complex but great to listen to. Track 9 is poorest sounding like old reggae and doesn't seem to fit in with the rest. So glad I bought this album!

Disco torto

Smart, fun, original pop music
I previously only knew Jamie from his work with The xx (which, if you haven't heard their first album, it's well worth checking out here: XX )I was impressed with how different this work is. His band's music is good for a late night when you want to be alone. His solo work on "In Colour" is more appropriate for a dance party (albeit a very hipster one). The songs have thick layers of sound and interesting chord progressions and continue to be rewarding on multiple listens. "Good times" and "Loud places" are probably my favorite songs on the album, but there's not a disappointing track. If you are looking for my favorite albums from last year, "In Colour" will easily be on that list.
