If you ever wondered what is Power Pivot or heard about it and not taken the tentative steps to use it then...This book is exactly what you need as Matt Allington starts as basic as you can with a complicated topic and provides exercises to get you up to speed in no time.This book is aimed at Excel 2013 but I used Excel 2010 with no problems.A brilliant book for the Excel Analyst who would like to take Pivot Tables to the next dimension.

This is a must have. It may not be as in depth as other books, but Matt uses a way of teaching which I am very found of and can't really find with other authors: by examples. Small, one-thing changing type of exercises to cement what you've just learnt in the previous chapter. I can't recommend this enough!!

This is a great into for those who want to learn power pivot. It’s not for those who want to advance their skills. If you already know the basics for dax you’ll be skipping pages faster than you know.

I've bought a few other market leading DAX books and this one is far more structured with proper worked examples. It would be good if there was a follow up on Excel Power Query and Power BI.

A great guide to understanding how to put fax into practice. The exercises are clear and easy to understand, and the difficulty level of the exercises progresses at a nice pace throughout the book. Perfect for the novice and anyone who needs to learn and master this hugely beneficial skill for their career!

This book provides a practical and a well thought out approach to understand the writing of DAX formulaes. The explanation is clear and the exercises are real world and you can verify that you get the expected answers. It provides another excellent resource for learning PowerPivot.

You can learn DAX in a solid way, I have read two or three books about DAX before but this book is so practical that you can put all the concepts in your head and in your hands it is like a "you know DAX, then put in practice",it is a most if you are looking to have a solid knowledge of DAX.

For anyone learning to write DAX, learning about DAX functions and writing DAX formulas is just not enough. You need to understand what is happening under the hood in every context and what results you can expect from the DAX formula.
