A long time ago, I used a set of plastic tumble dryer balls (with "bobbles" on) BIG mistake ~ they were noisy, damaged the drum, leaving indentations! I disposed of them & did not replace.These dryer balls, however, are wonderful. You can only just hear them moving around. There is no odour at all and dried items come out beautifully soft. Better still, the drying time is reduced, which is what I was after. I am currently trying to work out savings. Perfect results & a good investment.

Like many others, I used to use 3 tennis balls inside white socks to fluff up my tumble drying and get rid of staic. They lasted about a year before the rubber element inside the ball disintegrated.I thought that I would give these a go. I haves since used all 6 balls to fluff up 3 line-dried bath sheets and to completely dry a down-filled coat and a down duvet. I followed the instructions EXACTLY...I do think that they shorten the drying time, although I couldn't be precise about by what percentage. all results were good. the test will be how long the balls last.....The downside is that they are expensive, but I can see that a lot of wool is compressed into each ball, so maybe the cost is justified.I will update this review once the balls have had a few months use.

Definitely makes clothes softer, haven't found that it reduces tumble drying time at all but does come out slightly less creased. Doesn't smell at all like some reviews have said. You can hear them in the dryer but not too noisy. Probably more effective on a smaller load as they tend to get stuck inside duvet sheets etc

Fantastic. These do make a difference to drying clothes. It does separate the clothes. They come out dryer with no creases and I can now dry my bedding, before the duvet covers would roll into a ball. I would open dryer ever 5 mins and shake. Not now. It’s a wee bit noisy but the balls aren’t causing damage to dryer as they are so soft

Honestly, these were not for me. I do think they helped dry clothes faster and the towels did feel softer, but then again I never used fabric softener, so I don't know how they would feel if I did. But they transferred on everything. I'm probably sensitive to wool, but it absolutely irritated my skin. They seems to constantly leave fluff behind, especially noticeable as I cleared the dryer after every load and on black and dark clothes. I really did give them a fair try, but in the end, they just weren't for me. They also didn't help at all with the static, which was probably the main reason I got them.

Wish I'd known about these years ago.In trying to decrease the chemicals we use around the house I was looking for alternatives to laundry softener. Found it !!I was sceptical at first but thought I would give these a go. I've washed, tea towels, towels and bedding using no laundry softener, and dried each load in my dryer. Everything is lovely and soft when it comes out. The scent ? They just smell clean and fresh, no scent.

I rarely write reviews, but I’m so impressed with these dryer balls, I decided to make an exception.I bought them without any particulary high expectations - just hoping they would be a more eco-conscious replacement for plastic balls that had split. But I was quickly delighted to discover that using all six balls in a load literally HALVED my usual drying time and left the clothes and bed linen significantly less creased than usual.I haven’t noticed any issue with the smell mentioned by another reviewer. I am very sensitive to smells but these balls only have a faint scent of fresh wool (as you would expect!) and I couldn’t detect it transferring to the laundry in any case. I also like that you can add drops of essential oil to the dryer balls.Can’t recommend this product highly enough. It’s definitely going to save energy and money.The only tiny downside (and nothing to do with the product itself) was that Amazon in its customary disregard for matters environmental saw fit to package the cotton bag containing the balls in a further, entirely unnecessary, plastic bag and a big strip of bubble packaging. Pointless and wasteful. Wake up Amazon!

Used mine today for the 1st time, very impressed they do exactly what they are designed to do, I did not neef to use any softner prodcucts in the wash cycle, once dried in the tumble dryer my washing was lovely and soft and smelt of the detergent. This will save money and the environment totally reccomend
