A great book and a great addition to an already great series. The book does a great job of continuing the story in a way that feels like a smooth transition from book 7. Richard Paul Evans does a great job of creating books that I have a hard time putting down, and this one is no exception. Would definitely recommend to any Veynaic or anyone looking for a good read.

It was a nice surprise to see another installment of the Electroclan saga pop up on my Kindle recommendations. I took advantage of a sale and grabbed a Kindle copy of this book as soon as I could. The Michael Vey series is some of the best YA fiction out there right now, and it's not just for kids. If you are a fan, while RPE gives you a dossier recap of the Electroclan members and the events of the previous 7 books, I feel like I may have to go back and read them again before #9 comes out. There are a lot of details from the previous books mentioned throughout this tome that I just could not recall. However, this doesn't mean that you won't enjoy the book. Once again, the action and suspense wraps you in so well that you can not put down the book. I always feel like these books should be longer (after all, I read all 7 Harry Potter books which were longer and equally enrapturing), mostly because I want to know way more about the characters than the book tells me. Author RPE also does well in using his characters to interweave exposition in the dialog. His characters narrate to us previous events in the story, along with historical, political, and geographic factoids. I ended up searching online for a few of the topics mentioned that didn't go into detail, and I felt like this book enriched my personal knowledge of historical events as a consequence. High marks all around... am looking forward to book #9!
