Do you have to scrub using this product or just leave it in the tub?

I do a good scrub on the tub and tile and then once or twice a week, I spray it on after my shower and leave it. This way I don't have to scrub the tub more.

it is septic safe - better than any chemical cleaners, particularly anything containing bleach is bad for your septic as it kills the bacteria 'eating' your waste ..

Which method cleaner works for hard water spots?

The shower spray keeps the water spots at bay, but you have to start with a clean spot free shower. I don't think method has an actual hard water spot remover, try vinegar.
