Review: Worth the counter space. - This thing is amazing. Grind coffee,spices, make sorbet, smoothies, tomato juice from my garden tomatoes(torally grinds seeds so they aren't detectable). Next I am trying to grind grain.

A: Right now if you buy directly from vitamix they are $189.00 for refurbished with free shipping 3year warranty also. My friend has had her vitamix for 20 years and she makes smoothies every day and Loves hers. Never a problem.

**Q: What is the warranty on this mixer?**
A: Amazon provides a 90 day warranty, but I contacted Vitmax direcly by email for the 3 year warranty. They will assist you in setting up your 3 year warranty for this product. You can also go to their website, create a Vitamix Rewards account, register your product, and set up your warranty that way as well. This way requires uploading your receipt (screenshot or photo). Your Vitamix Rewards History will show your Amazon purchase date and all of the other activities you have completed with points for each activity.

**Q: Does the packaging say refurb or make it obvious? Considering as a gift but wouldn't do if it said refurb or came in brown box etc.**
A: It comes in a brown box but has vitamix logo on it. Booklet says reconditioned. Everything is packaged professionally though.

I knew a lot of people that had these for years before I decided to purchase mine. Lots of power, will pretty much blend anything. It’s quite loud on high speed. I don’t think there’s anything you can do about that though, just the nature of a very powerful 12 amp motor. Makes great, frozen margaritas, fast. The instructions say that you can cook soup in it by leaving the blender on for about 10 minutes on full speed. Sure it’ll get hot and steamy but there is no way that it will actually cook the soup. You still have to pour it into a saucepan and actually cook it after you heat it up in the Vitamix on high. Personally, I don’t think I could listen to it for 10 minutes. I went through 10 pounds of tomatoes, salt, and oregano, blended it all up and froze it as a good and fast base for a pasta sauce. Work amazing for quick prep. Excellent blender.
