Good value for money
Delivered earlier than expected, and with everything you need for a new puppy. Ours loves the biscuits and raggy. The only down side would be the size of the bowl, it is too big at the moment as is the collar. But at only 3 months old will grow into both quite quickly. Good value for money and would recommend highly to anyone getting a puppy.

Skinners Field and Trial Puppy Chicken and Rice Starter Box
The 'Skinners Field and Trial Puppy Chicken and Rice Starter Box' is a great value starter pack for a new puppy owner. While I haven't tried it myself, my little dog was terribly excited by the mere presence of the sealed box the food came in (see my photos), so I'm guessing it smells and tastes very good if you're a dog!Skinners is a British independent pet food manufacturer (so no big multinational chemical companies involved in its manufacture, unlike most of the leading brands these days), and they make food free from artificial additives, which is also reassuring, particularly with food intended for young puppies. The kibble size is small so appropriate for almost any size of dog, and the feeding guidelines on the bag seem to be appropriate. A measuring cup is provided in the package, it does not have any actual markings on it though so you will need to weigh a portion and then put a mark on the cup with indelible pen. The food provided comes in a 2.5kg bag, so again is appropriate for both small and larger dogs - clearly if you have a huge dog then you will want to purchase a larger size, but it should provide enough food for at least a couple of weeks for most average sized pups, I would say. As with all changes in diet, the switchover to this kibble should be done gradually to avoid digestive upsets, we changed over a period of a week and no adverse effects occurred.Apart from the food and measuring cup, the package also contains a 300g bag of puppy bone-shaped biscuits - my dog says these are very nice - again, they are appropriately sized so that you can give them to tiny dogs or bigger ones, plus a cotton tuggy toy, a roll of eco-friendly poo bags and holder, two booklets with information about puppy care in general and Skinners products specifically, a 'Beco Bowl', which is a medium-sized dog bowl made from bamboo fibres, plus finally there is a very nice beige cotton puppy collar and lead set. The lead is long - 1.4m, and 1.5cm wide, so is suited to most sizes of puppy. The collar adjusts through a fairly wide range although it was too large for my toy breed pup so I have passed it on to a friend.Excellent value and all lovely quality products. The dog has never been more excited about a delivery box! Recommended.

Contained were booklets full of helpful hints and tips and great ideas for new pups
What can i say, my pup is normally not interested in the post. Today however he was all over this one with his little nose going mad. Contained were booklets full of helpful hints and tips and great ideas for new pups.also included a giod sized bowl which is made from some heavy material ive never seen before , its heavy so wont budge .one large bag dry dog food which my pup got stuck into crunching away , also included are bone shaped dog treats and its a good sized bag, i had to hide these or he would have eaten the whole bag in one sitting. Also contains doggy pooh bags, a rope style chew toy which is very well made and a cotton lead and collar. The collar can be used on quite a large puppy but can also be adjusted much smaller, fits my yorkie perfectly. All in all this is a fabulous set amd seeing how much he enjoyed this food i will be buying more. A perfect set up kit and if i could give more than five stars i would.

A good quality set
This package certainly got the seal of approval from my puppy. I didn't think it smelled of anything when it was sealed inside an Amazon shipping box: but she was all over the outside - snuffling at it, jumping on the box, and lifting her paw to ask if she could have it - as soon as this arrived. Inside the contents are:- a small size packet of puppy kibble- a plastic cup for scooping/pouring the kibble into in order to weigh it- quite a large biodegradable plastic food bowl- 300g of little bone-shaped puppy treats- a small-sized cotton knotted 'bone'- a small pamphlet 'puppy guide'- a natural-colour cotton puppy collar and lead- a packet containing convenient, pocket-sized rolls of poop collection bags (4x15 bags)- a 10% off couponKibble isn't something I normally feed my pup, but this was the food type her breeders weaned her onto and she quite likes an occasional crunch of kibble bits. Oddly, she doesn't like it soaked and will only eat the bits when they're crunchy. These kibble pieces have quite a small, tight structure (from a distance, they look like over-sized Grape Nuts). The biggest hit for my pup was the packet of little bone-shaped biscuits. The bowl is good quality - a larger version of ones I'd already bought. Too large really for the food my pup needs (or will grow into needing), but a good size for drinking water. Similarly, the collar and lead are nicely made in soft, natural cotton, but the collar seems very large indeed compared to my puppy's neck - and even adjusted so the cotton fabric is doubled over it's too loose for safety. This is, I suppose, the problem with a generic puppy box: it has to target 'average'-sized puppies. My mini-dachshund is a very small puppy, and some of the items are too large (and potentially even too large to be suitable when she is fully-grown).
