Yea,it can install on the ceiling.

Does it have to be hard wired?

No it is just the holder. The M5 unit is a mesh system so only one unit needs te be hard wired to the router.

How about the plug I live in US is the adaptor included?

Its only the mount, plastic bracket to hold the deco, no plug included.
