Useless
I was highly disappointed in these book ends. They do not hold up books, they bend very easily so the books all just sag to one side and all fall over. Pretty much useless since they are book ends meant to hold books.

Cute Bookends
These do the job. But since they are cutouts, they are much lighterweight than less whimsical bookends that are heavier and more sturdy. But if you are looking for cute and have a place to show these off, these are perfect!

BOOK Ends
This book end set is on a desk top and has done a great job with textbooks, and a variety of other books as well. It easily expands, and has not failed to keep everything upright (currently holding 23 books).
