Books for little boys
Bought for 3 & 5 year-old grandsons who love trucks & big machines and also love books. These books are about as indestuctable as the vehicles in them so they are GREAT for TODDLER tornados, aka as 2-5 year-old boys. We have several and the boys love them all!Hint from an experience book buyer--when in doubt about a book, I first check it out at the library. It has saved me alot of money and disappointment over not liking the book once I got it.You can also do this at the book stores, but for older books the library is fantastic. At our library I can go on line, request the book and they will contact me when it's in. This is great and well worth exploring to see if your library has the same service (most these days, do.)Happy reading!

This book needed to ditch the kids and concentrate on the trucks
Two stars for the giant trucks, negative three stars for the terrible terrible children and commentary. I feel like the author was so enamored of his kids that he felt he had to put them in a book, only they are annoyingly distracting rather than cute, their commentary is inane, and they take up space on the page that could otherwise be devoted to real facts or other pictures. Who chose to dress the children as 90s cool kids? My son is not convinced. We refuse to read their commentary, which leaves precious little to the book. It feels like the author assumed that no child could enjoy trucks without seeing someone like himself in the pages, so if your child is only mildly interested in big engines, this might appeal, but it might drive you, the parent reader, crazy in the meantime.
