I am always skeptical of the all-in-one dongles. hehe..I said dongle. I have tried a few and they tend to suffer with different intefaces (USB, HDMI, VGA, etc.). This one seems to work well. That said, I primarily use it with HDMI and USB. I did run into an issue the other day where I got lots of color distortion when presenting over VGA. Hard to tell if it was the dongle...hehe...or the VGA cable, monitor, etc. Since I can't (with certainty) rule out the dongle, hehe, I knocked a star off. Other than that, good product. Oh, and please stop using VGA anyway. HDMI makes a lot more sense for this use case.

I purchased the device for my Galaxy S8 phone. It works ok and looks great on the screen when it works. I think it was due to software/drivers on my phone more-so than the device itself. I had no issues using it on a 2016 macbook pro with USB-C. As for on the phone the screen would blank out or go black if I accidentally moved my phone like auto-rotate kicked in even when disabled. It is probably just user error on my part and Samsung just pushed a new update to my phone with some fixes related to screen sharing. I will update again here after I test it again.Overall the build quality of this device is excellent. The brushed aluminum casing is aesthetically appealing but is easily scratched. This brand is top notch and works better than a few others I have tried.

Our school purchased chromebooks for staff and students. The downfall was nothing seemed to work for teachers to connect their chromebook to their projector. Then I found this adapter. It works great with new chromebooks that have the USB C connector. In fact, I can connect an hdmi and VGA monitor to my chromebook at the same time with this adapter. It is awesome and simple to use.The only downfall that I have found (or I just haven't found a workaround yet) is that the two monitors or projectors connected have the same view. Meaning that they both will be the extended desktop or both the mirrored desktop. I can't seem to find a way to have one be the mirrored desktop and one the extended desktop which would be perfect.Overall, great adapter for the money, and it has helped me find a solution for our school.

I have several of these connected to classroom projectors that teachers use to display from their Chromebooks.
