Worthwhile getting, good mixture grammar, phrases and vocab
I was a bit unsure whether to get this when you can use google translate, but it means that you don't need to worry about wifi / data on phone overseas / network availability if out in the middle of nowhere. Fits in jeans pocket so doesn't take up much space. The print is quite small and contrast isn't always great so would love to have a kindle version where you could enlarge the print for those of us without perfect vision. The phrase in English is in bold so easy to spot. There are also sections on what to listen out for, for example at the doctors if they ask questions and good having questions about wheelchair access / some questions that those of us with a disability may need. My teenager said that, "is there wifi" should be one of the basic phrases - it is in there, just not on front cover. Great section on german grammar - its many years since I learnt German at school and there was enough in there to remind me the basics so I may have the courage to put together some sentences myself. So overall, a great little book, definitely worth getting if going to a German speaking place and you want to have a go at speaking German / understand more of menus etc

Not for under 18’s
Not suitable for under 18 year olds - purchased for 13 year old grandson - on arrival I opened the book at the middle pages - sex phrases and drug use phrases. The food section is right at the back! Excellent service from Amazon of immediate refund. Thank you

So user friendly!
I am not going to Germany, unless someone has other plans for me. Despite that, I am interested in learning German and have been since college—100 years ago. This book is a lot of fun. Of course it’s also incredibly useful if you’re actually traveling. I love to just open to a random page and get more familiar with certain colloquial phrases. The book has color coded categories related to: Basics, practical, social, safe travel, food, and an English to German dictionary, and a German to English dictionary. There is also a tear out card that gives you a succinct guide to the most basic words and phrases you’ll need if you do go to Germany.
