Pure silk, but very light weight in comparison to some other other pure silk ascots I own. Easy to tie, but does not stay in place very well because it is so light in weight. At about twice the price of some of the less silky blends or weaves it is not particularly good value but its colour scheme is very good for low key relatively formal men's attire - many of the paisley style ascots that are all the rage now are too vivid for more formal, as opposed to more casual wear.
