Intended for use as the undercoursing of Cedar Shingle Siding. This product is ideal for starter course rows when using the single-course method of shingle installation. It is also perfect for standard undercoursing when using the double-course method. This product is not intended to be used in roofing applications. A 1 square carton will cover approximately 100 Square feet at the recommended 14 inch double course exposure and approximately 50 square feet at 7 inch exposure. Review: Surprisingly good quality - These were way better quality than I expected. A couple had knots that made them almost unuseable, unless cut in half. For not being premium quality rebutted, and squared, they were actually fairly square. Probably not great shingles for a roof, but excellent shingles for an outbuilding sidewall. If you have a lot of corners you are trying to layer, they can be a little difficult to trim, due to the knots. So corner shingles should be chosen a little more carefully to avoid knots, or weird grain where trimming. I found it easiest to trim corners with a small trimming plane, or a small block plane.
