Excellent pans with superb lid design
There is no substitue for good quality and these pans deliver where it counts. Everything about them is just as the manufacturer claims, including a lid design that ticks all the boxes.Forget the need for a strainer - the pouring function built into the lid design works really well even for thin pasta. Forget drips from the lid messing up your worktop or wondering where to put the lids while stirring the food or adding something - the hooking mechanism and curved lid mean that the lid stays on the pan throughout and all the moisture drips back into the pan. It's just like the Fissler video on their web page. The pans stack really easily for storage, but the lids require separate storage, but they do slip into one another quite easily. Heat distribution is excellent and the pans look like they'll last for ages, which makes them very good value for money too.

a one-time purchase
I bought this Fissler Solea saucepan set almost 12 months ago now, a bit of an impulse buy to be honest having tossed out some old (cheaper) pans where the coating was flaking and the handles were falling off. So I looked around for a better quality product - something that would hopefully last, and these pans were what I found. After 12 months they still look pretty much brand new and have been a joy to use. The quirky lids are actually quite practical in use but they do need both hands to operate for draining, and similarly the larger pans are heavy and also require both hands to move around. I use them on an induction hob and the thick base means the heat is evenly distributed and simmer well without burning food in the bottom. They do take longer to reach cooking temperature though compared to a similar sized pan made from thinner material. There is no doubt these pans are expensive so are they worth the money? I think so, they won't wear out any time soon that's for sure. I've dropped the glass lids a couple of times onto a hard laminate floor and they survived intact - I'm not sure they would have if dropped onto a ceramic tile floor though and I would hate to think of the replacement cost! One pan I over-heated (I enabled the wrong ring on the hob) but there was no damage other than a little discolouration which was soon cleaned off with a little Ciff cream. So in my opinion these pans are an investment that will last a lifetime - compare that to cheaper alternatives that you will be replacing in 5 years time. They have earned 5-stars from me for performance, ruggedness. and sheer good looks.
