Brrrrrrrrt! Every fan of aviation and modern armed forces knows this sound! The A-10 THUNDERBOLT II™ WARTHOG® is a close support aircraft in service with the US Air Force and Air National Guard. Single-seated, damage-resistant and powered by two turbofan engines, the attack aircraft is designed to destroy tanks, armored vehicles and other ground targets. Between 1975 and 1984, 715 units of this machine were produced. Combat use took place, among others places, in Kosovo, Afghanistan and during the Persian Gulf War. Due to its unique design, stunning effectiveness and firepower, the plane has become very recognizable and is very popular among military aviation enthusiasts! And we present the aircraft in a unique green-graphite painting, which was used during Operation Desert Storm in 1990 and in endless other applications! Using 667 COBI construction blocks you can build an amazing US Army attack aircraft, the A-10 THUNDERBOLT II™ WARTHOG® in the Operation Desert Storm markings. The set has been designed with attention to detail and is covered only with durable prints. The model was prepared in a 1:48 scale under the license of Northrop Grumman. The set includes a simplified version of the minifigure that fits into a 1:48 scale cockpit. Weapons in the "Desert Storm" configuration are attached under the wings. Review: Fast Shipping - Great Build - Item was promptly dispatched and arrived a week ahead of schedule from overseas. It was packaged really poorly, but arrived in great condition regardless. I’m not sure why desertcart Germany did such a bad job of boxing it up as my experience with desertcart has always been excellent in terms of packaging. The build itself was really decent, with all parts being in top condition, well printed (no stickers required), and a number of parts looked to be custom made to suit the model. Thoroughly enjoyed building this kit. A word of warning to the colour blind - you will struggle with colour recognition with this kit. I ended up using the InstColor iPhone app to identify the green parts vs the grey parts as they were nearly identical in the book and also in the kit itself. I got there in the end though, but it made it a slow build for the size of the kit. There was just one missing part, which was disappointing given that Cobi kits are more expensive than most. However, I ordered the missing part from Cobi’s missing brick service for free and await its arrival. I’m glad that I purchased this kit. I usually build big kits in the 8,000 to 15,000 piece size, so this kit was tiny by comparison. Regardless, it was a very worthy build and makes an admirable display piece.
