Coco-crazy for it
Extremely good stuff,my seedlings loved. Easy to rehydrate and boy, there was lots! You'll need a biiiig tub for it! Its very thirst so youll need way more water than you think and I highly recommend warm water at that

One block
Product good, but, I stupidly thought it would be made up of the usual sized bricks, but no, one big block, so for me, very difficult to handle, otherwise ok.

Best to bulk up compost, for drainage! It's MY 4th purchase.
I've bought this multiple times. I used it mainly to bulk up my compost. It creates great drainage. It's supposed to retain moisture and it does, but when it dries then it's rock solid. I've never had a good experience using it for seedlings or moisture-loving plants. It is recommended for seedlings since it has no nutrients, as a peat alternative for the same purpose as peat. With seedlings they seem to suffocate, it stays moist ages, maybe too long but seems too SOLID to let airflow when by itself. Multiple seedlings have rotted in it. Then I forget about it since it never needs water top up, then it gets ROCK HARD and won't accept any water I give it, so plants dry out! Once it dries out, it WILLL not let water back in!!! So hard to get water to the plant. ALSO, getting a plant out of it to repot with proper compost, it's IMPOSSIBLE to get the coir off as it's gone solid. Maybe soaking in water before will help but I'd rather not. You can see it comes as a brick, it's ROCK HARD til it is soaked in water, then nice and fluffy but you can't necessarily do that with every plant when you want to repot it... and you DO want to take off the coir before repotting if the coir has got SOLID hard around the roots... since the roots don't seem to get water. One or the other. Too wet for ages, locking moisture in without oxygen flow, or too hard and locking moisture out. What I DOOOO love it for hence 5 stars, is.... inexpensive media which works GREAT when MIXED with compost, perlite or peat. Bulks up compost, creates coarse material for drainage and airflow (as long as compost is blended with it, it's sort of hay-ish..rough ). I mix 50% compost, 30% Coco coir, 20% perlite and that's a happy mix for me. :)

Good value but not convenient
Plus sides, you get lots for your money and it's well packaged. Bad sides... it's one solid lump rather than the smaller bricks which I was expecting. This makes it almost impossible to use unless you get a giant bucket and soak it all at once. I literally have to chisel it off with a hammer and screwdriver every time I want to fill a pot. Also you will probably need to add plant food to the mix.
