Perfect for my 24-oz bottle, love the softness of the strap
Pictured is the holder with my own 24-oz water bottle inside. My bottle's circumference is 2-3/4" and its height is 9". I would say if your bottle is much wider than 3-1/2" you should get a larger size holder. The material is stretchy and will conform to a range of bottle sizes.Another thing I really like about this holder versus others I've seen is that the shoulder strap is made out of a very soft material. If you wear it across the chest, as I do, the strap is soft and does not chafe the skin at all. In contrast, lots of other products have a strap made out of that woven stuff that is more like car seat belts. That can be very irritating on your skin if you are hiking, etc.

Great idea, bad stitching .
I bought this specifically for my trip to Florida while at universal studios and Disney. It started to rip in the first 2 hours!!!!Stay away and look elsewhere.

Adjustable & Detachable Strap / Over-Shoulder or Hand-Held - Best Feature!
I'm already sold on the WaterVault products, so following up with a Bottle Buddy was a no-brainer. I use the WaterVault bottles every day keeping one of them with me at all times, even if just sitting at my office desk all day to get my daily allotment of water. What I love most about the bottles themselves is that they retain the temperature of liquids all day long, whether I leave my cold liquid in the car on a hot day or my hot or cold liquid on my desk all day. I already have one Bottle Buddy, but I have more than one water bottle. I thought it would be nice to have a buddy for each! I really wanted to try this one out because of the adjustable strap in addition to holding small to standard size bottles. The adjustable strap is the selling point for me. When I come and go, I tend to have a number of things in my arms to either put in the car or pull out of the car, and since my WaterVault bottles go EVERYWHERE with me, it's nice to not have to hold the bottle in my hand along with everything else. I like being able to swing it over my shoulder (or body) or, in this case, being able to detach the strap and re-attach the clips to make it a hand-held version of the carrier. For me, this strap is super-convenient because it accommodates my activity - sometimes a quick over the shoulder and sometimes a hand-held. Great job WaterVault! Keep your products coming! I even have friends sold on them now and will continue to order.

A bit on the small side
I have not yet used this "regular" size Water Vault, but it appears to be well-made and is attractive. Unlike the Neoslings that I have been using, the shoulder strap snaps off, and the remaining straps snap together to make a handle -- nice feature if the weather is too warm for a shoulder strap. It will not hold my 9" circumference, 2 3/4" diameter stainless water bottle unless I force it, which may rip the seams. It does comfortably hold an 8" circumference 16.9 oz water bottle. My stainless water bottle, 8 5/8" in circumference, will fit with some pressure. Only time will tell if the pressure is sufficient to rip the seams.

5 Stars for Design, Quality, Functionality and Customer Service
I love the Bottle Buddy as much as I love the entire Water Vault collection (my husband and I own many of them). For starters, the design is beautiful, like that of all Quantum Group's products. The new colors in this series of Bottle Buddies is wonderfully vibrant. The product is extremely well designed and well made. The utility of the Bottle Buddy is rather awesome. I never would have thought a water bottle holder could be designed with so much flexibility. You can sling it over your shoulder or across your body, give it a short handle as a hand held carrier, clip it to your belt, and probably do other cool things with it that I'm forgetting. Sometimes when I'm leaving the house with my hands full, I wouldn't be able to bring a water bottle (or coffee thermos, which I sometimes turn it into) with me at all if I didn't have the Bottle Buddy. It is definitely a 5 star product for its functionality, design and quality -- not to mention that Quantum Group's customer service is as good as it gets.

It is too long for her (she's 7) but I tied a knot in it to make the strap shorter and it works fine like that
My kids are water fanatics. They can't go anywhere without a bottle or sippy cup of water with them. My first grader was not getting enough water at school, especially on gym days, so I would always send her with a bottle. I needed an easier way for her to carry it, since she goes up and down the stairs a lot. I got this and now she can have her hands free when on the stairs. She also used it at field day. It is too long for her (she's 7) but I tied a knot in it to make the strap shorter and it works fine like that. I also made sure to tell her not to let anyone pull on it at school and to take it off when on the bus just in case. I don't like the idea of anything around her neck when she's not being supervised. I really like it so far and am thinking of getting one for myself.
