Q: The battery door piece doesnt sit fluss with the camera body (slightly off), anyone else have this minor issue?

I removed the rubber that prevented a flush fit. I is now flush and works just fine.

Q: Product-photos show "lb3 sii", plate "lb1 sii" (with more screw-holes), different from most customer-provided pics ("lb3"). what do you really get?

To be honest, I would skip this one and go with the one by smallrig. The Swiss Arca is much better to use than the screw holes.

Q: Will this fit an a7iii? I have an a7rii but just upgraded to a a7iii

This specific one is fit for a7iii.

Q: How tall is the thick section? The Sony extension grip isn't tall enough to accommodate my little finger.

This is much shorter than Sony’s. Check out the version from Smallrig.
