Ubiquiti [5-Pack] NanoBridge M5 22dbi 5GHz Cost-Effective 5GHz MIMO Bridging Solution with airMAX TDMA Protocol and InnerFeed Antenna Technology (NB-5G22-US-5)

I connected two places 2 miles apart by using 1 pair of NanoBridge M5. Setting up was quit easy if you have an experience of hooking up home wifi network because there is a very understandable manual (AirOS manual) online. Actually antenna alignment was the most difficult part for me though, an antenna alignment tool that comes with the operating system was simple but good enough, and I could get to know the signal strength by sound. When I aligned the first NanoBridge, I used a compass based on the relative location information I got from Google Map, then went to the other site and aligned based on the result of the tool. Then I went back to the first site, and aligned by using the tool again. That's it...just took one day. Access speed is fast enough. The computers in remote site work as if they are under the same building.My next plan is to use Rocket M5 and 120 degree Sector Antenna as access point and to use NanoBridge M5 as clients (stations). The furthest site is 6 miles apart. I might need to do some special settings though, I'm sure I can do it from the experience I got this time.

Only two out of five of these devices functioned correctly out of the box. Vendor refused to refund because we didn't take them out of the box for 30 days. We buy backup hardware and should not be suffering loses like this for equipment which has never been used.. Updated firmware to 5.6.3 and units just reboot or do not respond at all.

I now have over 100 of these (including all models) and they simply work good. Use a pair and connect two points with internet or connect an IP camera remotely located with no wires.
