Review: Open-Heart Surgery Incision and Tube Wounds - Had open-heart surgery five weeks ago. My 13” scar looked angry and red the fourth day after surgery, with the top of the incision, right below my neck, looking as big as a 1/2 red tennis ball poking up under the skin. And it hurt! While in the hospital, asked six nurses, one NP, two cardiologists, and a resident about it. All just nodded. Five days later, at home, asked the visiting home care nurse about possible infection. Got the same answer…if it gets infected, we can open it and put a wound dressing on it. Ya think?? I preferred to be a bit more pro-active. Looked infected to me. But, what do I know? On the next visit, the home nurse freaked, and sent pictures to the surgeon. She was insisting he see me that very day. According to her, this was about to burst and that would put me back in the hospital. Surgeon declined to see me and prescribed antibiotics. Six years previous, I had great results using this product (recommended by a friend) on my dog’s infected ear, which the vet kept cutting small portions off because it was infected, and the tissue was dieing. I asked every medical professional listed above if I could used this product on my incision. Each looked at the product for two seconds before saying no. Never read what it was or what it even contained. All…just a flat NO! After the nurse freaked, and not wanting to return to the hospital, I took matters into my own hands. I cleaned the wound (using q-tips) twice daily with a product from desertcart called Hibiclens (Chlorhexidine Gluconate solution 4.0% w/v), gently dried it, then using a different q-tip gently applied this collodial silver to the incision, including the two gaping wounds where tubes were inserted into my chest. On the next visit (3 days later) the nurse was astounded and taking pictures of this product. Never saw any healing like this. Saw the surgeon’s NP a few days later. She said she never saw the lips of the two tube wounds close so well and so quickly. She also took pics of the product. It has been five weeks. Scar and wounds are healing beautifully. All medical professionals are stunned. This is not medical advice. It is my experience. A: 3.38 ounces

**Q: Is the combination of silver gel and the alginate silver dressings recommended for a feeding tube site?**
A: I work in nursing and yes it would be appropriate.  This silver gel is wonderful can and should be used with any wound, scratch, sore of any kind. And is ideal for people and animals.

**Q: What is the difference between this one and the one with aloe?**
A: Natasha - thanks for asking. Our Silver Gel with Aloe is more soothing by nature and serves well as a first aid product for burns, minor cuts/scrapes and other irritations. Besides the obvious difference of having Aloe added to it, the Silver Gel with Aloe is also pH Balanced and less potent at 30ppm; whereas, this Extra Strength Silver gel contains 35ppm of silver. Even though its pH is more acidic (around 5-6), it is better suited for wounds, topical applications on more acidic areas of the body, and is used by many including estheticians as a facial and cleanser used in conjunction with a beauty regimen to help with acne causing bacteria among other uses. If you haven't picked up Dr. Pedersen's book Silver Solution: A New Fighting Chance (I think it is on Amazon) that has some other great uses for silver gels and an interesting side note; he is actually our product formulator and helped develop both of these gels. **Q: Would this help a cartilage piercing heal faster?**
A: I would think it will heal any wound on the surface of the skin.   If it is very deep and you can't clean it thoroughly then it may not get down in there good enough.   I clean my wounds with colloidal silver liquid first to flush them out,  dry them and then put the gel on, cover it with a sterile abd or gauze pad and secure it in place twice a day.   I am allergic to most topical antibiotics so this is best for me.   If you have an infection in yours,  see a doctor first.   I really like this gel for all kinds of wounds and skin problems.    Works great for me!

Wow! I'm at a loss for words about the effects of Silver Gel. My daughter gave me a tube for a 3" burn on my foot, SG healed that up nicely so I went online and ordered 2 of each type of other SG products for myself and the rest of family. I've been applying everywhere on my body that needs healing. I had blood work done, the needle went in the wrong way and created 2 years of pain that developed into a mass of scar tissue and swelling. SG Soap and Emergency products reduced swelling and inflammation overnight. The pain and swelling are getting less and less. Sun spots on my face really bug me, tried many, many products to get rid of them; including acids, laser surgery and fine sandpaper. Each helped a little, most helped temporarily, but they have not completely disappeared. I'm still working on getting rid of them and bought SG cosmetic gel, haven't used it that long, the spots around my hairline seem to be disappearing. The ones on my cheeks need more time to see id SG helps. I have arthritis and swelling in my hands, I'm going to try SG on them before falling to sleep. It's nice to regain faith that pain and other maladies can be remedied.
