Although bright and responsive after bright days, this light has a major firmware design flaw (especially for a security light). It does not automatically re-start itself the next day, if it runs out of juice overnight after a cloudy day. After a cloudy day, it doesn't get enough charge to stay lit through the night and PERMANENTLY turns itself off. It should have been programmed to just turn itself back on automatically after it recharges during a sunny day. Instead, you must press "power" on the remote to get it to turn back on. It will only automatically turn on each night during a succession of sunny days. So it can't be relied upon unless you're tending to it on a daily basis. So it will stay off if you're away on vacation .

The first lamp I was sent did not work but was promptly replaced by Chisso. So far the second lamp is working perfectly. However prospective buyers should know that on the first mode, in which the lamp turns on at night and motion causes the lamp to light up more brightly, walking past the lamp did not trigger the brighter light. In fact, only waving my hand directly in front of the lamp caused it to brighten. And the brightness lasted only five seconds. On the other hand, even in its dimmer phase, this lamp provides more light than my neighbor's solar lamp on bright. So I am completely satisfied; the lamp provides steady light when skies are dark. It's also has a very handsome, simple form which I appreciate; the design is modern. Since the hooks to attach the lamp to the wall are centered in the back of the lamp, the lamp seems to float on the wall. It is also easy to pull the lamp off and put the hooks back onto the two screws in the wall. I haven't tried using the remote control yet and I'm waiting to see if the lamp continues to work through the winter. My last solar lamp (by another manufacturer) stopped working after two weeks!I have had to change my review to one star from five. The lamp has stopped working after only a few days. It was a blazingly sunny day today yet the lamp is giving no light whatsoever. I waited until it was pitch dark, but still no light. I then tried using the button and the remote control: the lamp was completely unresponsive. I will contact the seller and see if they have any advice, but if not, I'll send the lamp back for a refund and give up on solar lamps.

Very bright and easy to set up. Once charged stays lit all night when needed. Sensor is awesome. Great when entering a dark area like the side of the house, or that dark spot near the edge of the yard. Get a couple of these you will not be disappointed.

This light is compact and very bright, just what I wanted to light up a patio area outside my front door. It has several settings for its motion sensor and brightness. It also has a remote control, which I find to be very handy, but it would be better if you could use the remote to turn the light on and off independently of the motion detector. In any event, the real problem is that the light stopped working after a few months--a major disappointment.

We installed this iight above our garage door, and it seemed to be working then, but after that first day, the light is unresponsive. We would go out to our garage door many nights after the first night to test it to see it was working properly, but always unresponsive. The light would only come on when we press any button on the remote, and then nothing. Will have to send it back and purchase a different one.

I ordered this light after the other one I purchased (different brand) did not work out of the box. I was in a time pinch and was debating on 2 different ones and I chose the wrong one from the start but after receiving this one I was very happy. It worked exactly as expected and produced alot of light. Hung it on the outside of my camper and it lit up everything I needed to see.
