A switch delivers on it's promises at a good price.
It does the job and it delivers on it's promises at least the ones i've tested. I have 1.6Gbit internet so I'm never going to get that with 1Gbit switches. I have my router connected via a DAC cable on the SFP+ port and it detected it as 10Gbit which it is. I have my NAS and my Laptop connected on the 2.5Gbit ports and both are detected as 2.5Gbit just fine. I also have WiFi 7 at home and the access points have 2.5Gbit LAN ports so of course if I wanted to get over 1Gbit over wifi I would need a 2.5Gbit switch. I saw this one and I wondered, at this price what's the catch? It's managed and it has 8 2.5Gbit ports and a 10Gbit SFP+ so why so cheap? But it works! I get full internet speed, and full 2.5Gbit between my NAS and my desktop or laptop so I'm very happy. It doesn't make any noise at all since there's no fan. The only downside is no matter what I try I cannot get it to change the management IP. Either DHCP or statically assigning one it won't work on that IP and remains on the default 192.168.2.1 IP. That's quite annoying but I can live with it since I rarely ever change the config on my switches and If I really need to I'll just manually configure an IP to do it. So yeah, quite happy. I thought it probably would have too many compromises at this price point but now I think the other manufacturers are just ripping us off with their switches costing hundreds. If I need another 2.5Gbit switch, i'll get another one of these. It manages to talk just fine to my Zyxel switch at 10Gbit over the SFP+ port and the VLANs work too.Positives:Really does do 2.5Gbit on each portAccepted every SFP module I put in it so farDAC cable worked fine tooPrice is goodLow power consumption (seems to be about 11-15W)Does VLANs and aggregation just fineCons:Management IP doesn't want to changeWeb interface is http only and a bit basic

Excellent, great value
Amazingly good piece of kit. 4 x 2.5Gbe and 2 x SFP+ ports in a *managed* config is fantastic value. I'm using this as the main link between a Win11 system and an UnRAID box. Running 10Gig SFP+ fibre and achieving 7.5Gbps throughput both ways (using NVME drives on both ends, SATA IDE drives get quite a bit less but the bottleneck is with disk IO). Been hammering it with large transfers, it runs quite cool and performs perfectly - no dropped packets or issues.Switch web interface is basic and a bit fiddly, supplied 12V adapter seems a bit iffy but for a paltry £65 (as at Aug24) this is an unbelievable bargain, highly recommended!

Excellent 2.5G switch but terrible mounting holes!!
Great product at a really great price. Seems really well made and does the job well. The only issue is that the mounting holes on the back are TINY and require such small screws I struggled to find some small enough and they're not included.

Fanless, L2 managed switch. Management VLAN quirk but usable
Great switch offering 2.5Gb Ethernet on RJ45 connections. The management side is fairly complete offering many options found in most L2 managed switches. The fact it's fanless means it makes no noise. The power supply has a fixed UK 13a, not a modular, so I guess if purchasing in an EU country or US, it will have the corresponding, fixed power outlet plug. The manual is very succinct but a more detailed manual is available from the Sodola's website. My version shipped with the latest version of firmware available at the time of purchase (1.9).Setting it up is fairly straight forward, with one exception: the management IP side. Whilst it's easy to set the management IP, it's not obvious how to define which VLAN it's on. By default, it's on VLAN 1 but if you have your network set up where your network management subnet is on a different, specific VLAN, it's not obvious how to configure: unlike the 8 port 10Gb Sodola switch which I also have, there's no "management VLAN" setting. However, I was reassured when I sent an email to their support and received a reply a few days later on how it works. In order to have your management IP on a different VLAN, you need to ensure you have at least one of the ports set to that VLAN untagged. You also need to ensure the PVID on that port is set to the same management VLAN (by default, the PVID is set to 1 even if you change the tagged / untagged / excluded status). Once you've set that up, you can change the default management IP to the one you want on that specific VLAN subnet. The change is instant, no reboot required.Once you set that up, it will be accessible via its IP on the VLAN specified. So whilst that works, it does mean you need to have at least one port dedicated to the management VLAN which isn't ideal if you don't have other devices on that VLAN untagged... But it works. There is only one management account available, but you can change the default username and password to your liking. The switch doesn't support any kind of SSL so ensure the password isn't something you're using elsewhere if you're concerned about it being sniffed on the network.Overall, it's a neat switch and offers great value for money given the features. It's just a little quirky to set up and if you're concerned about secure management, that might be an issue with no SSL support, but apart from that, I'm very happy with it for now.

Works 100% with Virgin Media Superhub 5
Superhub 5 2.5 Gb compatibleIf, like me, you want to make use of the 2.5gb port on the Hub 5 It's difficult to find a switch that worksAlready failed with a couple of unmanaged switches, so looking for a unit that worked.Very pleased with the Sodola, it just works out of the box using the DHCP supplied from the Hub5.Full speed on my 1 gig volt package and using samknows speed test I am getting 1148 downloads from the hub and the same speed from the desktop back to the hub.I don't need the management side. but good for those that do.It runs cool and no fan as others have said the fixing holes are small, and no screws supplied but not a real problem.

Rock solid managed switch at a cheap price
I was a bit dubious of buying this switch, it seemed easy to cheap for the function set it supposedly had.I neednt have worried it's been absolutely rock sold for months and has become a must have part of my network

No good for me
Ordered this networking switch, but it was a total letdown. Didn’t work at all—complete waste of time. Had to return it. 1/5 stars for the headache and zero functionality. Avoid this one!
