Wonderful book--hard to tell on Amazon which is spiral-bound.
Yiruma is a genius and these pieces are absolutely beautiful. Complex enough to be slightly challenging but easy to learn if you are an advanced pianist. There are two versions of this book on Amazon, both printed on high-quality paper with lovely cover material. One version is spiral-bound, indicated for some reason by the word "Spring" in the title. The other is not spiral-bound, indicated by "PUR" in the title. PUR indicates polyurethane reactive binding, which is a modern, high-quality binding technique--but I suspect that almost no buyers will understand what this means just by the term "PUR" being in the title. We now have both versions, and they appear equivalent apart from the binding technique. I do prefer the spiral-bound version as it lays flat so nicely on the piano even when brand-new. The spiral material used is narrow enough that it's INSIDE the cover rather than being exposed, which is a nice touch. That being said--PUR binding does work better than older binding techniques, so it's possible to get the PUR version to lay flat pretty well once you've broken in the book, without losing pages. For me, though, it's worth the few extra dollars to get the spiral-bound version.I'll attempt to leave this same review for both items, as it's otherwise hard to tell which is which.
