This product is a lifesaver. I had gotten some Bose Noise Canceling buds but had a 9mm jack and my phone did not. While I use the adapter to plug into my phone directly sometimes, the majority of the time I will use this to connect to my phone. It does not sound any different as if I plugged it in directly to the phone. You do have to charge the item every now and then but it has a surprisingly good battery life.
