Product Description ‘Vibrate: The Best of Rufus Wainwright’ features 18 classic songs that define one of modern music’s most innovative talents. Highlights include ‘Going to A Town’, ‘Hallelujah’, ‘The Art Teacher’, ‘Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk’ and a brand new song, ‘Me and Liza’ co - written with Guy Chambers. The bonus disc contains live versions of some of Rufus’ best known songs recorded at Kenwood House in 2010 plus ‘The Maker Makes’ from Brokeback Mountain, ‘La Complainte de la Butte’ from Moulin Rouge, new song ‘Chic and Pointless’, and ‘WW111’, never before available on a physical release. ‘Vibrate: The Best of Rufus Wainwright’ encapsulates a career that is like no other. From the 1998 release of his debut album to ‘Out of the Game’ in 2012, Rufus Wainwright has played it his way, refusing to be categorised while establishing himself as one of contemporary music’s very best songwriters, singers and performers.

SPLENDID REVELATIONS
Bought this for one track but became immersed with the surprise and pleasure of many others.. Used to love his dad's humorous musical adventures but thought of Rufus as a bit whiny... pleased to find out there is much more to Rufus than than.. some nice and unpredictable gender politicking also... not the usual homosexual cliches.. Well done Rufus as this heterosexual is telling you, nothing grates

A RW fan
About time for a retrospective - I can't understand why Rufus is not mainstream - he is the greatest songwriter on this planet at this moment. If half of the so-called 'popular artists' had half of his talent they would be lucky. Still, his true fans know his worth - long may he continue to please his adoring fans!

You might be cool, but you'll never be Rufus-Wainwright-level cool
There really is no other artist like Rufus out there. All of his songs are so unique and distinct and he has really dabbled with so many genres to great success. Was lucky enough to see him live and was blown away. Go buy the album-it's never too late for you to discover hidden gems.

Comfy Corner
As usual an experience of different contrasts. Always the musician using his piano skills to offer different styles and genres of music all with lyrics telling stories of people, places and experiences. How lovely to hear again some of the more popular and well known songs of Rufus Wainwright mixed in with those lesser know numbers that are definitely worth listening to again, with a glass of wine, and a roaring log fire.

Flip fops on 5th Avenue
Rufus Wainwright has a nasal twang at the end of words. I guess it's NYC which does it. His singing style shouldn't work and yet he's so constantly inventive that you get drawn into his world of watching men read fashion magazines and being friends with Liza Minnelli. I loved everything here! (on the first disk anyway!)
