Worth it for "keep me in your heat" alone. Definitely worth it
Bought this for my Dad after he lost his mother - I heard "keep me in your heart" - the final track and a bittersweet, sincere goodbye to the world (Zevon unfortunately died shortly after this album was completed). He loves it, so does everybody else. Highly recommended.

Life and times...
Could you do any better, given? No, i didnt think so. Have you got pals like Bruce Springsteen and Dave Letterman, that you can call upon to play on your album, and champion your music? No, you probably havent. Did you pen the most addictive, memorable and universally-appealing song ever? Not unless you were the hidden genius behind 'Werewolves of London'. And if you dont know what im talking about here, then where on Earth have you been holed up at for the last 40 years? And why are you even reading this review, as you probably dont enjoy music, in general? This is by no means Warren's most talked about, nee', listened to record, but if you were staring Mr. Z right in the face, could you honestly be so stone-cold pokerfaced to bluff your way out of awarding it anything less than 6 golden stars for effort? I think we will just say NO, again, just in case you are having any last minute reservations about purchasing this album. The estate of Warren Zevon, thanks you.

A fitting farewell to the Excitable Boy
Listen in conjunction with a bit of background knowledge about the struggle Warren faced to make this album when he knew he was dying, and the support he got from his friends, and I guarantee you'll be moved to tears. This is not his most accomplished work, but in a strange way it's the most complete.

Swansong
Its a real tragedy that this was his last release, as this is a fine offering. All of the songs on this cd have something to say, my particular favourite is Keep Me In Your Heart, this was used at the very end of Sky's House series and has been used on many other occasions. I recommend this cd.

Grace and heart at the closing
My order actually came early so that was great and the packaging was fine, as is usual from Amazon. For those who are Zevon fans, I expect you already have The Wind. If not, why not? Each song here is, or borders on being a masterpiece. Yes, we knew that he knew when he recorded it that it would be his last, and maybe that fact lends a certain poignancy to the recording. And while you can hear the age, weakness and weariness in his voice throughout, you can also hear him rising to the occasion, struggling mightily to find the energy and heart to sing songs that almost all reflect on his (our) mortality. Certainly, the all-star assembly who helped him throughout must have been inspiring to him as he wrote and recorded these songs. And the last song he recorded (and the last one on the recording) is simply arresting in its aching tenderness. ‘Keep in your heart’ never fails to move me—and I can see it being a suitable anthem to be played at any wake: ‘keep me in your heart’—and that’s something we will certainly do for this exceptional songwriter, performer and human being.

A VERY moving last work of his rare talent
Being a long time fan of Warren I can only say that his untimely and unfair passing left our world with one less gifted soul. This collection of heartfelt touching and gut-wrenching material is a true tribute to an outstandingly REAL performer and has been a comfort and friend on many occasions. We will miss you Warren.

Warren Zevon's last album
I've only waited 15 years for this to be reissued on vinyl and it is great. You could always wish for a bit more in a reissue but still this is a good quality work. I'm hoping that Eone Entertainment will do another of Zevon's back catalog soon.

L'ultimo saluto di Warren
Quest'album è l'ultimo saluto che Warren da ai suoi fan da vivo, si conclude con "Keep me in your heart" che è qualcosa di sublime. Non è il solito Warren, però è comunque un buon lavoro.

Creative Genius
This is an amazing performance from a 'genius' on his death bed. Incredibly a good collection of songs, particularly considering the circumstances of the recordings.

. . . R.I.P. mister Warren Z. !

keep me in your heart
