Review: Excellent fan control module. Works as it should. - The engine cooling fan on my Volvo XC70 wouldn't stop running even after I turned the car off. This is a fairly common problem with these cars. I believe the same part is also used on a good number of Ford cars. The Volvo dealer wanted $1100 to replace the entire electric engine cooling fan unit ($500 for the part and $600 of labor). OUCH :( Instead I spent $34 on this desertcart part and it took me about 20 minutes to replace the broken module. It works great and has me running down the road just like I should be. It's a fairly easy repair. I recommend watching a Youtube video. Really there's only one screw that holds the thing in place but you'll probably want to have an offset screwdriver or a short ratcheting screwdriver as there's limited access to the screw in a standard screwdriver isn't going to fit. Other than the single screw there's one electrical plug on the top and two electrical plugs on the bottom. Definitely worth trying before you pay tons of money for the dealer to fix it.
