I love this telescope/spyglass. It does has some weight to it and is by no means a "cheap" piece. Leather wrapped and solid brass, fully extends and works, but you'll have to settle on any type of visual clarity. This is definitely more of a décor item. Listed dimensions and weights were pretty much spot on. The wooden display box is alright and nice to have with it, nothing too extreme here in the way of luxury.

Was given as a house warming gift for a friend who has a house on the ocean shore.. Have been informed by him that he and his family and grand kids used it and enjoyed its looks and the view it gave of ships passing .Very good quality of item and case.,

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for a sailing enthusiast. The item was well made, completely functional, and beautiful. It was a huge hit.

Bought for my wife of 20 plus and was delighted to see that she enjoyed this as much as the kids. Would love to see more themed items from this era.

 This is attractively boxed and is quite attractive.Do not mistake this for a high-quality optical instrument however. It is an accent piece.The telescope is a little wobbly when fully extended and if you wear eyeglasses, it's just about useless. But as I said, it's not really a working telescope, it just looks like one. For a nautical themed decor or just as an accent piece, it's quite nice.I was provided a sample for review.

The telescope looks wonderful next to a model of the Mayflower on my desk. The brass and the leather both seem to be of high quality and make the device appear old and authentic. I was surprised to see how good it actually works, most decorative items are built for their looks instead of their function. The rosewood box is pretty and works well with the telescope. I'm very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone.
