For years I’ve been looking to replace my favorite portable tool set. The same exact set never seemed to be available. This Amazon Basics 145 piece set uses almost the same storage format. Quality feels similar. Weight and feel are similar to the name brand. The 3/8 ratchet slightly larger than name brand. Ratcheting mechanism has tighter feel probably from smaller teeth on the internal workings. I am by no means a professional. These aren’t the tools you’d get off one of those fancy tool trucks selling their overpriced wares. But seem comparable to lesser brand names you’d find at big box stores. The price is very comfortable for the do it yourself kind of mechanic. Will the sockets strip or break? Will a tight bolt strip the ratchet gears? I doubt it. Perfect tool set to ride around in your car, truck or 4 wheeler. As with any tools, the problem is keeping everything together. Carrying/storage case helps with lost tools syndrome if you put everything back in its place. Not having used them yet I still recommend for the price.

Great set of tools at a great price, great case too. Have used it many times already, have had this set for a few years and the case is still holding everything as it should.

I ordered this. It was a nice set but the case it comes in, the set does NOT stay in their appointed slots. It is double sided and they fall all over the place

Very nice, well made and sturdy rachet and wrench set. For any do it yourselfer I think this is more than adequate for any routine mechanical work and well worth the money. Will probably outlast me!

Bought these to keep in the car. (Also got something for common combination wrenches...but that's not what this review is about.) They are heavy enough and easy to grip. They seem easy to use and I believe they are durable enough for a travel tool-set. Having a molded case was a selling point but when they arrived at delivery, some pieces were rattling around and not secure as I hoped. That's the biggest negative I have, not the tools but the case. I would still buy it for peace of mind.

Great item. With real metal front locks.The tools do not fall from the case unless you don’t install them properly.Easy to use. And organized.Great buy. Compared to bigbox similar kit is a no brainer.

The quality of the set is superb. The tools feel weighted but not heavy. The sockets have been used for furniture assembly, bicycle repair, and automotive care. This is an item that you may not use every day but will be happy you had it on hand in a pinch. You don't need to know everything about mechanics to benefit from having a complete tool set on hand.
