Help Keep Your Whynter ARC-12s Smelling NICE!
Better smelling cool air output for ARC-12s and similar portable air conditioners, can be had by inserting this charcoal impregnated filter sheet into the holder panel that houses the normal cooling coils air filter door. It can be used along with a 3M fine particle filter without reducing air flow. The filter arrives folded over. You remove it from the thin plastic LDPE bag and carefully unfold it. Then slip it into the filter door after removing the holder panel and then snapping it back down. Air conditioners like the Whynter ARC-12s tend to produce more water than they can use for cooling the freon coils, unlike some Pinguino air units that use more water than they produce as condensation. Therefore the leftover water can start to smell a bit ripe even if you regularly or even constantly drain the condensate through use of a bucket or a drainage tube. By using this charcoal filter (on the air INPUT side), you can minimize the level of airborne particulate smells that can enter the air conditioner and then get into the condensate water. It makes for nicer smelling cold air output from the front of your Whynter portable!

Does the job.
Fits but it could be cut straighter. Had to tug on it a bit to make it into a proper rectangle. For the price paid you expect perfection!

To small, expensive and poor quality.
Either I got the wrong size or it was cut wrong. It came about 6" to short and it is a very coarse cheap material. I can't believe it would filter anything smaller than a house fly. For such a great air conditioner I expected top quality at its high price. I bought a generic cut your own size that will give me about 4 filters for $8 bucks from Amazon. It was also a high quality charcoal filter material that was more dense.

Fits Whynter ARC-12S and good quality
Thick and good quality; shipped flat rather than rolled, so no worries about tearing. This fits my Whynter ARC-12S perfectly and feels thicker than the one that came with the unit. I do feel that it's a lot of money for what it is, but I don't have a choice and I'm happy with the purchase. It would be nice to be able to purchase a value pack at a discount.
