Tacstar 4-Pack Shot Shell Carrier Benelli Nova Side Saddle (12 Gauge)

Really nice product. The base plate is a machined aluminum to fit to your gun specifically. Works perfectly on my nova pump. The shell holder is a sturdy polycarbonate blend that bolts using 4 Alan bolts to the base plate which is then attached through the guns trigger bolts to make a perfect match each time. The photo attached shows all angles as well as with and without the saddle attached. Be sure not to over tighten as stated in the instructions due to too much pressure on the trigger and this may lead to a misfire if the trigger can not release the hanmer.

I wanted a side saddle for my Benelli Supernova Tactical (with pistol grip) and only really had two choices, this and the $80 Mesa Tactical. I was skeptical about it but Glad I went with this product. It's sturdy and holds the shells well. Assembly is very easy. Buy some loctite and don't over tighten the screws and your good to go. For the price this a outstanding product. This 100% fits the supernova tactical model.

I actually started off with the MESA Tactical 6 shell side saddle before switching to the TacStar. I was told by gear elitist to "buy one cry once" and that I would "get what I paid for." Although the MESA is very nicely made it does have a few flaws. For once the built in pic rail would block the middle bead if you have the shotgun set up with a long barrel for hunting/trap/skeet. Secondly if you don't have long arms you are constantly slamming your hand onto the aluminum saddle (although that is not an issue with the 4 shell version). When I got the TacStar I was pleasantly surprised. The plastic part that actually hold the shell is a nice flexible (but not too soft) polymer and it holds the shells securely. The metal backing fits the receiver perfectly. Although it does make tear down of the firearm a bit more work by replacing the take down pins with bolts it's a trade off I'm willing to take. I would recommend this product.

These seems to be a quality piece, I bought it based on reviews that it would fit the supernova. IT DOES NOT. The screws are too short . U can tweak it to make it fit but probably shouldnt. Im keeping it because i plan to buy a nova hunting shotgun soon.

I have ordered this product twice now and received the exact same product. This is a side saddle, but even though the sticker says it is for a Benelli Nova, the manufacturer's packaging clearly says it is for a Remington 20-ga 870. The side saddle is designed to be mounted using the trigger assembly pin holes. These holes are located differently on different models of shotgun, so there is no way to mount this on a Benelli Nova unless you glue or tape it on.

This fit perfect for my Benelli shotgun . The install was easy , took about 5 mins. Looks really good , tactical ready for the range . Thank you for a great product .

This is a good choice if you are looking into the considerably small market for options to get your Nova into a tactical rig, Or into a hunting loadout. This only holds 4 rounds, but, Given the fore end is basically a field type, And the stock capacity is 4+1, This is a good option. To my Knowledge, Mesa Tactical has an Overly expensive 8 or 6 round side saddle thats fits Novas without any mods being required. But, they are just that; Expensive. I feel that Tacstar's side saddles do everything a "Highend" side saddle can, So, there is not need to drop the cash on those. I use a Tacstar side saddle on my 870 as well, And have had no issues with it for the past year and a half. Anyway, On point: As stated before, Only holds 4 rounds. Worked for me, Using it in a tactical rig (Not to mention the Nova was a tactical model), It kept the rounds in place when moving fast, I.E. Running, Jumping, Etc. But, They are kept in place a little too tight. It becomes a slightly difficult to get the rounds out of the slots because they are so snug. (Worth noting the 6 round 870 saddle did not have this issue.) That is my only issue with the saddle. That indicates it may be more fitted to a hunter's tasks, rather than a LE officer's, or solider's tasks. If you are familiar with field stripping your weapon (Which you should be. If you aren't, Then you should focus on that prior to looking for mods), Then you can install this in no time at all. Once on, it is rock solid, and feels as if it were built into the weapon out of the factory. Also worth noting, My 870's saddle screws that held the round slots to the plate came loose at the range, and while I was unaware of such issue, I had put many rounds down range and caused all of the screws except one, to fly all over the place. I had at least 10 or 11 range trips with side saddle on, Having around 200 rounds fired, Give or take a couple. It will hold together through alot, But, If you want it to hold together indefiniteley, Slap some Loctight on the screws, and check it after each range trip. I did not use the Nove very often, And only had it for 3 or 4 months, With a reasonable amount of shooting done with in that time. The side saddle did it's job to the utmost. Overall, This is the most cost efficient way to equip a side saddle on your Nova. It will serve you 100% out of the Box, But it will serve you 110% if apply some loctight on the screws when you install it.
