Edge Finder 1/4" Audible, Fisher

I have used these a lot in the past while machining for a company I worked for. The one I used where 1/2 shaft and a bit heavier duty. This one says max rpm is 1500. I tried using at 1000 rpm and it was to fast causing the end to offset before touching anything. I found 500rpm to be just about right but I never hear a click even though the only thing running is my 3018 cnc with this in it. Not a big deal for me as I am used to just watching it. Watching it for movement seems to be accurate and it's nice to find one in a 1/4 shank for the er11 collet just don't run it to fast or it will ruin the spring quickly.

I can't believe how few 1/4" shank edgefinders there are. Wtf?The clicking feature is ingenious, I wish they all did that. Flawless and extremely useful product

It took a bit to learn how to use this tool. I've only used electronic (non-spinning) type before. Once I got the feel for this tool, I could locate the same edge within 0.001 inch. Using it on a desktop CNC router which is ±.004 on the best of days.

Fast service quality product

Great quality product. I'm a huge fan of it being audible, which is a huge plus for me personally.

First edge finder with a 1/4 shank that will fit in a small precision chuck that I have seen in 50 years as a toolmaker.

Good quality, but very fragile

Personally the fact it "clicks" isn't desired to me. I was always fine with just jogging until you see it jump. That tactic has worked great in the CNC industry I've been in for years, since its loud enough you wouldn't hear the clicks!But, I bought this for home use, with my ER-11 spindle on a CNC Router. Much quieter environment. Easily jog it over until you see it jump and hear it click. Does the job! Glad I was able to finally find someone that sold edge finders that'll fit in ER-11 collets!
