A 45lbs kettle bell is actually pretty heavy for the average user, and especially heavy for the average woman. I wouldn't recommend this for a woman unless she has already trained with kettlebells and knows what weight she can handle. Obviously there are women that can use a 45lbs kettlebell, but they didn't start with a 45lbs. **Q: do you prefer competition kb or cast iron kb for home use? com kb better for staches, cleans etc wile cast iron better for swins, goblet squats?** A: I haven't tried competition kettlebells, but I own several cast iron ones. As far as I've ready, there are three things you want to keep in mind about the competition ones. First, they are consistently the same size no matter the weight. Second, they are made for one hand. Three, they are a more complex piece of equipment due to their size consistency throughout weight classes. Four, they are more expensive. For home use, I'd say stick to cast Iron. The only real advantage there is with competition kettlebells for home use is that they are consistent across different sizes. The different in size isn't a big deal for me, but based on what I've seen online, this can matter to some people. The grip on a decent cast into kettlebell is good for one or two hands, whereas for a competition kettlebell, two handed is more difficult since they are designed for one hand use. Also, I mentioned that the competition kettlebell is more complex. Most kettlebells are made in such a way that they are filled with a metal that adds the necessary weight (though there are some upscale kettlebell manufacturers, i.e. Kettlebell, that avoid this problem to the kettlebell. It is possible that this can come loose, leaving you with a rattling kettlebell. And, of course, competition kettlebells are more expensive. In my opinion stick with cast iron kettlebells. **Q: Is the quality same as the name brand?** A: In my opinion the quality is very good. This kettle bell was just what I hoped for. No rough pointed spots. All one piece. **Q: Can you hold the 10 pound kettlebell with two hands** A: Yes you can.
