While having fun reading this book, children will learn a lot
Trent Harding has written a book that will delight kids while teaching them about Italy, and Ashlee Harding has drawn beautiful eye-catching colorful drawings to dramatize the tale. In the story, children join Theodore, the cuddly teddy bear who tells them many things about Italy.Kids learn favorite Italian words and many fun facts about Italy and its cities. For example, that Italy is shaped like a high healed boot and looks like it is kicking Sicily; Venice has gondolas that are thin boats; the foods are awesome, such as pizza and pasta; the colosseum in Rome is the largest amphitheater in the world; and much more.

Excellent Educational and Fun Book
This is another of traveller Theodore bear's adventures. The simple Italian words at the beginning of the book are an excellent introduction. In this book we follow Theodore to the great tourist attractions in Italy, and learn about some of the famous Italian artists. The facts are laid out in simple language which is easy for a child to understand and remember. The illustrations are charming and Theodore is an endearing little character. I'm sure any child who has read this will long to visit Italy.

‘Mi chiamo Theodore – Grazie!’
Australian sibling authors Trent and Ashlee Harding write and illustrate exciting, educational and valuable children’s books with the desire to help youngsters with all aspects of literacy and numeracy. Both Trent and Ashlee are studying Occupational Therapy and Business at University. They live in Melbourne, Australia. The hero of the story is Theodore the bear and in this delightful book cum travelogue we are privy to the glories of Italy as Theodore is our guide. For starters Theodore offers facts about Italy, a very fine little list of popular phrases in Italian with their English translations, and then he shares Venice with the canals and gondolas, Rome with a bit of history, the Trevi Fountains, the Spanish Steps, the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, some insights to the artists of Italy (Michelangelo, Da Vinci, the Vatican, Tuscany where the wines come from, Milan – home of fashion, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Italian sports (soccer), popular Italian foods, and the beauty of the Amalfi Coast. The pleasures of this book are many – and this travelogue/reference book about Italy will energize children’s (and adults!) desire to visit this terrific country. Booking information, please….! Trent and Ashlee have created a very successful children’s learning entertainment book, and with quality such as this we can only hope they will continue creating equally absorbing lessons. Highly recommended. Grady Harp, December 17

My favorite part was the food
My name is Hailey. I just finished reading Theodore's Italian adventure. I give the book 5 stars because it taught me about Italy. I'm going to Italy this summer and I learned a lot from Theodore's trip. My favorite part was the food. I can't wait to eat pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, and gelato when I get to Italy. I can't wait to visit Venice! It looks so cool on the water. I learned that there are no cars on Venice. I guess I will be doing a lot of walking.I want to read more of his books

Sloppy book with typos and poor illustrations
This is a very thin, printed-on-demand book that presents a crudely-drawn teddy bear telling the audience lollipop-style facts about Italy. Sprinkled throughout are throwaway sentences, as if written by a 6th grader trying to reach a word-count requirement. Examples include, "I guess I better tell you some other stuff about the city too," and "Can you believe that?"The illustrations are jagged, as if they came from a 1990s ink jet printer. There are misspellings / typos including a your / you're error. Spellings vary indiscriminately between U.S. and Queen's English. There is a small collection of English / Italian phrases in the beginning that is nearly useless because there are no pronunciations. This book's content could have been entirely generated from paper placemats found at red-sauce Italian-American restaurants in the 1970s. I am a little offended this book even exists, but it seems to be self-published. This would have been a zero-star review, but I'm giving two because I appreciate that the authors wrote a kids' book about global warming and climate change.

Great overview
I have been to Milan and hope to someday go to Rome. So I enjoy reading about Italy and helping my kids learn about it too. My 3yr old likes to see Theodore again. It made me laugh that when she saw the pages about Mona Lisa and the David, she would say "yucky". Guess I need to introduce her to more art :-DI don't know how much she picks up from the text - 3yr might be a bit young for all the things this book teaches, but she is letting me read through it all waiting for the next picture of Theodore.
