Deena's Lucky Penny (Math Matters)

Dull and repetitive
There's nothing here that can't be accomplished by showing your child the various coins and describing their values. This transparent and heavy-handed story won't entertain today's savvy child, who can smell a "learning opportunity" from a mile away. Dullsville. My 5 year old son loves the topic of money, and he thought this was a snoozer. I'll be very surprised, if he asks to hear it again.

we love it!
Both girls 5 and 3 1/2 years ols love this book. We read it again and again...sometimes we play the story with real coins-it makes so much senseI definetely will recommand this book to introduce money to little ones.

Aimed at American Audience - unsuitable for UK buyers
Although the title has 'Penny' in it, the story is written for an American audience. The word used are Cent, Nickel, Dime, Quarter, Dollar and Mom instead of Pence, Pounds and Mum.What a shame that we aren't offered the correct version when buying it in the UK as this (US) version is a complete waste of money. I will be returning it as it is of no use here, the story was rather silly too, even for children.
