Great read for practical application of true family ministries
The author gives a great account for where both families and churches are today in regards to their faith and spirituality and is provides reasonable goals for churches to implement. This was a refreshing book because it was not one of the, "Your church is doing everything wrong, so throw the baby out with the bath water," type of books. As with every book, chew the meat and spit out the bones, but this books has plenty of meat.

The Home Must Take Its Rightful Role in the Educating and Discipling of Children!
I am greatly inspired by Mark Holmen's call to parents and grandparents and other influential adults to bring our children up in the fear and admonition of the Lord. The church is not responsible. Christian schools are not responsible. For decades, public schools are not doing that any more. None of us should abdicate the critical responsibilities of discipleship to any other entity. This book gives extremely practical counsel, and you will be blessed by the reading. I even sent an e-mail to the author. I would like to co-author a book with him! CHURCH+HOME+SCHOOL. I have 20 years of experience as a public school teacher, coach, and administrator. I have 14 years of experience as a Christian school administrator. I have come to understand the home school community better during all 34 of those years. Kids spend a fraction of that time at church. Kids spend a lot of time at home. The next biggest chunk of their time is spent on their formal education (35-40 hours a week during the school year). Parents and grandparents must not fall sleep at the switch when their children are learning at schools; we should all be monitoring the education of our children.

Making parents spiritual mentors
Our church is in the process of trying to empower parents to take responsibility for their kids' spiritual development. The main idea we're pursuing is that it's the parents and not the church who have the Biblical responsibility. The problem we've run into is that there's not a lot of practical ideas out there on how to do that. This book was pretty good in that regard, although we're now going to buy the package they have that includes their classes for parents.Well worth your time if you're pursuing these ideas.

Great book!
The book strikes the right emphasis and tone. Parents need to recognize their vital role in the spiritual formation of their children. Some have gone to the extreme and abandoned their position as parents, while others have reacted too far abandoned the church. Neither is right. There should be no competition between church and home. Parents must raise their children in the truths of Jesus Christ, and partner with the church (the BODAY OF CHRIST) for lifelong faith.

Faith does begin at home!
Building Faith at Home: Why Faith at Home Must Be Your Church's #1 PriorityGreat book! Concept so simple I didn't understand why I hadn't thought of it. I have ordered additional copies and distributed them to key members of both my church and others. I love the fact that we don't have to change existing programs, we just have to look at them in a different way. I can do that!

Our culture and the future
This book contains most valuable thoughts and concepts for the Home Centered Spiritual Culture. Regardless to one's beliefs, occupation or profession or confession or marital status will find it useful. Anyone who cares to take a time to consider their relationship in the circle of their family, community and expanding into society and the future will benefit from it.

Good read...
It was a good and enlightened read. However, it did seem to repeat the same message over and over again in a few places. However, the book was informative.

Inspirational approach to how we do ministry!
As a recent graduate of a Baptist Seminary I was awe-struck by how much this resonated with my vision for ministry. Faith@Home is an amazing vision that I can't wait to apply in my ministry with children and families, and I hope that it will rub off on the other ministries offered as well!
