First Edition Oregon book with its one-of-a-kind coin sealed on the cover featuring the Western Meadowlark and Oregon Grape (Oregon's state bird and flower). The cover shows these four photos: 1) Sea Lion - Sea Lion Caves is nature's home for wild sea lions and a variety of sea birds, located 11 miles north of Florence on the Oregon coast. This is the world's largest sea cave. 2) Mount Hood/Trillium Lake - Mount Hood is an active stratovolcano in northern Oregon about 60 miles east of Portland. At 11,249 feet, it is the highest mountain in Oregon and the fourth-highest in the Cascade Range. It can be seen easily from both Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington. 3) Waterfall - The Pacific Northwest is literally overflowing with great waterfalls. The Cascade Mountains are among the most rugged on the continent, and possess more glaciers than anywhere else outside of Alaska and British Columbia, and receive more rain than anywhere else in the country. The formula is perfect for massive, jaw-dropping waterfalls. 4) Yaquina Head Lighthouse - The Pacific Coast Highway winds a path northward from Oregon's sandy southern beaches to the dramatic rocky headlands of northern Oregon. Along the way are eight lighthouses of various historic record and architectural heritage. Yaquina Head's rock outcropping and 93 foot tower are visible for several miles along the Pacific Coast Highway. The light was completed in 1873 and is a classic example of the towers of that period. Today the lighthouse is the centerpiece of Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area, and is one of the most-visited lights on the west coast, with over 400,000 visitors each year.
