Great Series!
I love British mysteries and this one didn't let me down. I started on book three of this great mystery series and I fell right in step with what was going on.I fell in love with the strong personalities of the two main characters, DCI Callidine and DS Bayliss who play off each other perfectly. DCI Callidine is the perfect, 'let's get this case solved type" of inspector that rubs the acting DI the wrong way and a few others. Sgt. Bayliss is the perfect sidekick for the inspector, she is hard working and isn't afraid to question him in regards to his professional life or personal life either. She's very devoted to him and is not going to let him forget it.They are working a bizarre series of homicides that are all very different but have a common denominator. The victims all come from extremely different backgrounds which makes this case so puzzling to the team. The village next to them is having a few odd incidents of its own. The young DCI who is in charge of those cases has already ruffled the Leesdon CID team's feathers over territorial disputes. The rumor mill is that this overly ambitious, pompous DCI may be promoted and moved over to Leesdon to take over as the new DI!What I liked about this series is that it was full of twists and turns, I was never bored. Another plus is that I picked up on book three and wasn't lost in trying to catch up on the characters. It made me want to go back and read the first two of this series. I saw that book four " Dead Murder" will be released near the end of the year. I'm looking forward to this one as well. I highly recommend this series if you like a fast moving, very suspenseful series.

Made For TV Police Drama
Thanks to netgalley.com, Helen H. Durrant and Joffe Books for the advance copy for my review and I also purchased it from amazon.com. Something I do for a select few authors that I really like.Probably the coolest thing about netgalley.com is, discovering new authors and one that you instantly get hooked by their writing.Dead List is bloody brilliant, has a murderess that you can't help but cheer for since it's retribution day for several criminals on her list and it's time to pay for their sins.DI Tom Calladine, DS Ruth Bayliss, DC Simon 'Rocco' Rockcliffe, DC Imogen Goode, Dr. Sebastian Hoyle, FS Dr. Julian Batho are a well oiled machine, like family and they make it all that more of an entertaining read. Can't help but laugh at Tom's lady troubles, with Lydia Holden and Amaris Dean or the chemistry he has with Ruth.Durrant's characters regardless good or bad, just come to life, they play a role in telling the story verse not needing them or to be a distraction.Like the intertwining storylines with this one, it's fast paced, tension filled at times, full of suspense, some twists and turns and has a great conclusion. It's brilliant how the intertwining storylines, just swirls around Harriet Finch. Harriet's just been told she's terminal has cancer, has so long to live and puts together a hit list. It's retribution day, as she pays back the man that had her son killed, then she takes her brother-in-law for killing her sister, along the way she takes out two other criminals and starts off with the arrogant doctor who coldly gave her the cancer news.Highly recommend this one, Durrant's my new favorite authors and thankful have a few more in this awesome series yet to read.

I love these books!
Third in the series, Dead List has DI Tom Calladine and DS Ruth Bayliss investigating murders that have tarot cards left with the victims. Um, that's all I'll say about that.Calladine's personal life is in turmoil of a different sort in this book, and he's very reticent to do anything about it. He's a smart, intuitive cop, but now there are more problems at work. A new Acting DCI, a new DI that he's butting heads with, and oh, boy, does Bayliss have news for him!I'm really enjoying this series of books! I love the dialogue and the characters! Calladine and his team feel like old friends now. There is a fourth book due next month. Durrant has made her characters grow in each book, so I expect that I'll find out some resolution to at least some of Calladine's problems in the future. I'm looking forward to it!Durrant also has a new book out now based on the new DI, Stephen Greco, who was introduced in this book. That's Stephen, not Steve. Hmm. I'll be reading that soon because I want to know what makes him tick.

A solid read.
I enjoyed this story. Even though it didn't "grab" me. It was a good solid read. Calladine's character is different than a lot of detectives, but I wanted to see what he was going to do next. It was interesting.

Who done it?
This time we don't have to guess who the killer is--Durrant tells us right from jump. But will Caladine and Bayliss be able to figure it out? This was a very clever plot and, frankly, you might even find yourself having sympathy for the killer. There are also some little girls missing and a new DI to contend with; and he doesn't want to share any information he has with Caladine and his team. Lydia has also taken herself off but never fear, Caladine has met a new, interesting woman. Durrant writes characters one soon becomes very fond of. As a result, one wants to keep reading her books to see what happens to them next because not only do they have crimes to solve, but they have things going on in their personal lives that will keep you reading.

Pretty good twisting mystery
Di Calladine has been recuperating from a gun shot wound . As his Sargent was visiting he decided to go with her to an incident of a murder . Tarot cards, domestic issues , more bodies. Missing children . What a mess to sort out .

Karma
Kidnapping and murder, all in the same small towns. Are they linked and if so how? Calladine and Ruth are kept busy with the murders and a new officer in a neighboring precinct runs them the wrong way.

Dead List
“DEAD LIST” is the third book in a series, and in my opinion, the best. with the return of D.I. Calladine and D.S. Ruth Bayliss in the hunt for a serial killer who appears to be picking people at random without any motiveThe only clue that the murders are connected is a single tarot card left on each of the bodies. On top of the murders, there are two young girls missing. In this novel the identity of the serial killer is revealed right from the start, which for some readers will not be appreciated, but it allows the author to write in the killer’s POV.Calladine is also dealing with some huge personal problems at the same time. A new detective, Stephen Greco, has also come onto the scene, stirring a competition with Calladine. The book is a quick read and has some surprises that come along the way to add to the suspense of the story.I enjoyed this book very much.
