A unique item for a unique purpose, at Amazon! Where else?
As mentioned earlier in my review of the 40mm collet clamps, I have installed an MT2 40mm collet chuck on a drill press that I am using as an end mill. I purchased this high-quality drill bit chuck because it comes with a straight 1/2" shank that I can chuck up into my collet chuck. It works GREAT!

Great chuck!
Love this chuck, closes tight enough that I can hold the smallest drill bits. You will need a 20mm collet to hold it in your mill.

It's ok - not ideal for my situation
Shank on this chuck is too large for my application so I had to turn this shank down to around 0.500 inches. Seller should advise people in the item description that the shank is fully hardened. I asked this question to the community and only got 2 answers - neither were helpful. If you need to soften the shank, I put this chuck in a can of water with the shank exposed to avoid overheating the chuck. I then used a blow torch to heat the shank until it was bright red and allowed it to air cool. This softened the steel enough to cut it on a metal lathe. Mounting was also difficult. The shank does not separate from the chuck. I had to mount a piece of stock in the lathe and clamp this chuck down on the piece of stock. The tail has to be supported with a live center to ensure the shank runs true when your done. For the work I had to do, I would have much rather bought something more suitable. Runout on it is fairly good, though.

and much better than the jacobs
OK, compared to a much more expensive jacobs this thing rocks! A solid chuck, holds onto hardened shafts reasonably well, and much better than the jacobs. haven't put a test inidcator on it, but runs straight enough for drilling, collets for anything more precise.

Good Precision for the money
The chuck mounts up nice and has very good run-out of .001". I am very pleased.
