Sign Generator American Sign Language Support for Reading CD ROM

This is a nice little tool, but it has its limitations. First, you cannot use any of the pictures as you would pictures or clip art. That means you are unable to imbed them in another document. I was needing the signs as part of a visual daily schedule and was back to cutting and pasting. Second, it does not capitalize I, or provide a sign for the concept of I. Therefore, any sentences with the sign for I have to use "me." "Me want a cookie." This is odd. Third, it does not print out the same number of signs as the screen indicates. Therefore, if you are printing out a number of signs, say for vocabulary cards, your must be careful that they have all printed. All in all, it's pretty good, and it is conceptually accurate with multiple meanings for words. It's just a bit old.

The only major complaint I have is some of the images are too faint to copy well if I set up a master sheet to print later.I usually will take the time to trace over the images with a gel pen which solves the problem. I'm glad I ordered the software despite reading negative reviews about this issue. I've played with it enough to develop some nice lessons that would not have been possible without it. I use it a lot more than my Clip and Create 5.

The CD is defective. I was encourage to call the manufacture to verify the defective. Which it is difficulty for me. My hours are off.

I purchased the ASL Clip N Create (each version) and was very satisfied. Then I saw the Sign Generator and bought it as well. This software is such a good idea.(IF IT WORKED PROPERLY) I was VERY disappointed with it...not as a program, but the quality of the clipart images. They print out so lightly I had to go over them with a dark colored pen just to be able to use them. I contacted the company and they told me the clipart was exactly the same as the ASL Clip N Create software; like I was some idoit. I know there is a difference...a difference anyone can see. Please complain to the company if you have already purchased the software and warn others before they pay $50.00 for software they can't use.
