A fascinating yet horrifying account of the decimation of Napoleon's Grand Armee on the retreat form Moscow. My great, great grandfather was in the Dutch contingent that was wiped out at the crossing of the Berezina River. The bravery and absolute dedication of these men was beyond belief.A great read for those interested in early 19th century warfare.
