Today's most celebrated thinkers share their insights and opinions on the issues that affect our world. In this special volume of the series, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez speaks to members of the international press core about the advantages of socialism over capitalism and explains why true democracy cannot exist under the latter. Noting that the American empire's practice of privatization, foreign intervention, and violence is not conducive to a humanistic society, Chavez instead offers that the healthiest government is one in which all of its citizens play a role in its construction and development - that the ultimate voice is the voice of the people and that Venezuela will always be committed to maintaining that ideal. Taped on location in Caracas, this briefing is one that will never be shown on American network news and one that should be viewed by anyone who is intrigued by this controversial world leader.

Socialism Vs. Capitalism
Capitalism is just the dregs of colonialism and exists to help the rich get richer. Socialism was practiced in all indigenous societies, but when colonies were formed by the northern powers, the land was given to the rulers of the colonial countries. Currently, more than the land is taken by the wealthy societies, but also the jobs.I agree with Chavez.

The aftermath of the greatest disaster!
While Americans did focus on the events surrounding Hurricane Katrina during the disaster, little has been told about the aftermath.Alex Lemay's "Desert Bayou" is a real look at why Hurricane Katrina will go down in history as the worst natural disaster ever to hit an American city. Lemay focuses the documentary on Salt Lake City, where 600 evacuees were sent without their consent after Hurricane Katrina. The film tells the story of two families sent to live at the abandoned Camp Williams National Guard base in the outskirts of Salt Lake City, a state who's population is 1% black.Desert Bayou will wake you up to the reality of this devastating disaster. This is a film I highly recommend. It's a very important part of American history that cannot be lost.
