This adapter works great and absolutely easy to use!
I looked into getting this adapter as I wanted to get something where I can transfer video and sound from my phone to my tv. I normally use a chromecast to do this wirelessly, however, that depends on how good my WiFi signal is. Also, since I now have a data cap on my home internet I wanted to spare the bandwidth and be able to utilize my mobile phone data as I have unlimited. I am happy to say that this adapter is super simple. Plug the cable into your phone, plug the other end to your tv and finally you do have to plug into a power source. The usb cable can be plugged either into a usb powered slot on your tv or if you have a phone adapter sitting around you can use that to plug into the wall to get power. Otherwise there is absolutely nothing else to learn on this thing! The adapter simply displays on to your tv exactly what is on your phone screen. Absolutely no other setup! With this I have been able to stream my DirecTV Now account, Netflix and other web videos from a mobile website directly to the tv- FULL SCREEN! Even better, the quality is great as long as the quality being stream is of good quality itself. I’ve streamed several tv shows and they looked and sounded great. This thing is great!

I thought how great this is going to be in my semi
I must have got a defective product. It worked for about thirty minutes. The second time I plugged it in, it didn’t recognize that anything was plugged in. When it worked, I thought how great this is going to be in my semi. YouTube, amazon prime, and a few channel apps worked, as well as some games. Unfortunately the second time I plugged it in, in my truck on a new TV, it didn’t work. I have to return it. Hopefully I can exchange it for another, because it did work initially.

Easy to use and very helpful
I teach young kids and it is so convenient to be able to hook up my iPad straight to the tv and show them pictures/videos etc. and interact with whats on the screen. It's very easy to use and has a great, clear picture.edited to add that it over heats sometimes. good for occasional use

Oversized HDMI plug body with contacts too short, and poor lip sync
Two big things wrong with this adapter:The length of the metal part of the HDMI connector is not quite as long as a standard HDMI on the end of a cable. I compared it against an Amazon Basics HDMI cable and the difference was easy to see. As such it wouldn't complete the connection in the HDMI jack on the side of my Panasonic HD TV where there was a bit of the TV's plastic frame surrounding the jack. I used one of the jacks on the rear instead which are flush but not recessed and was able to get it to fit and hold, but just barely.But the lip sync was off by almost a full second on anything I tried-- my own iPad camera videos, YouTube, anything. Tried rebooting the iPad and reconnecting the cable-- same thing. Tried rebooting the TV and using another input-- same thing.This will be going back.

It is so nice when you buy something that says it is Plug ...
It is so nice when you buy something that says it is Plug & Play, and it turns out that it really is Plug & Play. I have an iPhone 6 and this works perfectly. I went to Best Buy to find out what I need to mirror my phone on the TV and they came up with a solution that was over $100. Yikes !!!This is under $20, and its great, I have a running game I want to use for a treadmill and this is all I needed Stream and Sound,,,perfect It took a minute or two when I started it to start streaming but no issue there. Then it was just perfect.

Not too good.
Constantly breaking displaying, tried on different phones and TVs. Sometimes works fine for an hour-two, sometimes just doesn't start.

BUYERS BEWARE 👎
I only gave this one star bc it wouldn’t let me not give it a star. This was an awful purchase! It worked the first time we hooked it up but the quality was horrible and it lagged really bad! Then the next time we tried it it wouldn’t go off the home screen that shows you how to connect it. Even tho it was connected correctly! The movie played on my phone but not the tv. It is now in the junk drawer 😒 BUYER BEWARE!

Does not work on ios10 and above with the built in screen recorder.
I bought this so i can stream my dvr recordings and live tv on my bedroom tv. Cannot do either an error message says you need to disable the screen recorder, i did, it still did not work, very dissapointed with this product. However, it works well for internet browsing and videos and games, but that is not why i bought it. This is the second one i bought, the other was a different brand name, i will post the same review for the other.
