Probate Kit (Do-It-Yourself-Kit): Advice and Instructions to Executors and Others for Administering an Estate

I was hoping for a guide that was a little more hands off, but it still provides a lot of useful info.

Some help but generally disappointed with the level of detail - I bought this to provide guidance as I am conducting executor duties for the first time. A lot of the information is available free of charge on the internet. Whilst the book seems to cover most of the areas for which you would require guidance, there is not a great deal of information for each section. As a result I have had to look up further information elsewhere as I do not feel confident that I would get things right, simply by using the information provided. The forms are useful but not brilliant - the spreadsheet appears to be reasonably useful with preformatted sums for each section but this is not particularly difficult to do yourself.

It does what it says on the packet! It is clearly written and easy to follow and made it far easier to apply for probate for my wife.

Despite the financial people telling me at the time, it is NOT impossible to sort out Probate for yourself. Myself and my brothers saved £4000 which is what we were quoted by a finance expert, by going through the process of sorting our fathers estate ourselves. It actually cost us £150 altogether, including the price of this excellent pack. Highly recommended.

Not worth the money. DIY?......I certainly did. All the information in this "pack" is readily available to download free. It was supposed to include forms but you have to download them yourself. Very disappointed. Better packs available with software and forms fo the same price.

As described. Used it . Very useful

Bought this as it contains a worked example of a C1 form, something that is impossible to find on the Internet. Unfortunately this contains some serious errors that saw my first form rejected by the court (for example not showing a summary for confirmation). Thankfully the court officials were willing to help me fix the mistakes.
