## Description

"YoLink" is a proprietary wireless technology provided by YoSmart. Based on Semtech's LoRa wireless technology combined with YoSmart Home/Building protocol, to provide the most advanced solution for smart home/building devices. Compared with WIFI, Bluetooth, ZigBee, Z-Wave and other smart home protocols, it has the advantages of low power consumption, long-distance coverage (wall penetration) and anti-interference. It is the first smart building/home protocol that can be configured very easily and is a very low cost but creates a reliable, robust and more secure IoT network. Requirements: 1. **Q: How can disable to notifications or disable the sensor during the day?**
A: In the Alarm strategy you can define the schedule or specific period of time to disable the alarm. You also can add different alarm strategy for each sensor or each group of sensors. It is very powerful and very flexible alarm strategy settings in the YoLink App. Thanks!

**Q: Are these outdoor use?**
A: YoLink Smart Door/Window Sensor is designed for indoor use because it is not waterproof. If you use it outdoor, please keep it away from rain or water.

**Q: Que cámara es compatible con yolink?**
A: Sorry, YoLink does not support Camera yet. The YoLink Camera is under developing and we don't have the available release date yet. Thanks!

**Q: How do I connect it to Alexa?**
A: You should have YoLink Hub first, then add YoLink hub and door sensor to YoLink app, go to Alexa->Skill->Search YoLink->Enable Skill. Thanks!

I appreciate these door sensors because they seamlessly integrate with a hub and just work. For reference I have 16 as Door Sensors and 20 as Window Sensors as well as 1 I rigged for use on a baby gate for a total of 37 Door/Window Sensors Yolinks door sensors, like any technology, come with their own set of advantages and disadvantages. Here’s a breakdown: Pros: Security Enhancement: They provide an additional layer of security by alerting you when doors are opened or closed, deterring intruders or notifying you of potential threats. Affordability: Compared to systems like Vivint or ADT, which have highly priced devices, Yolinks sensors are more manageable, especially when purchased in multipacks. Convenience: They integrate with smart home systems, allowing remote monitoring via smartphone apps or other devices. You're not tied to a specific security system; cancellation doesn’t render the sensors unusable. Automation: Integration with smart home systems enables automation, such as triggering lights or cameras when a door sensor is activated. Ease of Installation: Designed for easy DIY installation, saving money on professional fees. Battery Operated: Long-lasting battery power ensures functionality even during power outages. Cons: Hub Speaker Limitations: While I appreciate they work with a hub, multiple hubs are needed for full-home coverage, especially for alerting open doors like those leading to a pool. It would be beneficial if notifications could be sent through Alexa directly without setting up routines, akin to how the LG Washtower notifies via Alexa. Initial Cost: There can be a significant upfront cost to purchase and set up a network of door sensors, especially for comprehensive coverage in large homes. Compatibility Challenges: Ensuring compatibility with existing smart home systems or security setups can be challenging, potentially requiring additional equipment or adapters. They may not integrate well with other alarm systems. Color: They only come in white. I ended up spray painting mine since all of my doors and windows are black.
