Utility Knife - Professional Chef's Knife, 8 inch High-Quality VG10 Damascus Steel Sharp Blade and Humanized Wooden Handle

I don't often post reviews despite buying numerous goods through Amazon but this knife is of a quality that it deserves to be acknowledged.I have had previous Chef's knives and a santoku or two but this was my first damascus blade and it doesn't disappoint. I had a niggling concern when I ordered it that it's lower price compared to others would mean an inferior quality. This turned out to be unfounded.Out of the box first thing that strikes you is the patterned blade, absolutely beautiful. The wooden handle feels solid and comfortable and the weight and balance of the knife is great. I wondered how sharp the blade was without any sharpening, I sliced an aplle through and was impressed with the ease that the blade split the apple. It was only when I looked at the halves that I saw it had cut through the seeds also rather than pushing them aside.I asked my father (a retired butcher) to try the knife when he visited us and he was extremely impressed with it, also a friend who is a chef took particular interest in it and enjoyed using it.I have had the knife for a month know and only needed to sharpen once, this despite the fact that my mother in law put it on an intensive programme through the dishwasher. I dreaded the results but handle and blade help up really well.With this knife you can take on the ripest tomato or the toughest joint of beef and end up with great results.Highly recommend to anyone thinking of taking the plunge

This knife is a solid 10/10 when it comes to prepping food! Get you through anything with ease, straight out of the box its incredibly sharp. One month on I've only just needed to sharpen it. If you are sharpening this knife I would recommend using a whetstone not a steel as you will scratch your knife.Great value for money and I don't think I've found a single Damascus steel Japanese knife or anywhere near the same quality for this price!

For the price I was a little sceptical on what I would get delivered. Arrived on time, in fact kudos to the delivery driver as I was out when they attempted delivery but must’ve tried again on their way back to the depo so very pleased by that.I am happy to say the surprise was pleasant. The quality looks good, it’s very sharp with good blade geometry. The indexing on the handle is very good and it is indeed Damascus forged steel.With regard to durability. Only time will tell but I think from my initial impressions it could be a keeper.

If you don't want to spend 4-10 times as much on a high quality steel knife then this is your choice. It has proved to be a great everyday knife that cuts above the rest of my "normal" knives. Perfect on tomatoes and other vegetables, probably now needs to be sharpened after 3 months of use but still pretty good. Definitely worth the money and easy to clean as well as handy plastic protector for the blade that comes with it. Not the greatest craftsmanship from a looks perspective but definitely still a looker compared to your average kitchen knives. For this price definitely recommended.

bought this knife to cut steaks as I buy the hole rib eye joint and cut to the thickness I likethis knife cut through the meat with no effort at all and the joints were perfect no raged edgeshighly recommend buying this knife

This is a deadly sharp but excellent value knife. You will need graded sharpening stones to keep it as sharp as it arrived. You could pay much, much more and only time will tell if this hold up. At the moment there is nothing to fault.

I was looking for a top quality knife at a reduced price. It's good quality but not really up there with other knives i've used (that to be fair cost twice as much).It's good but not great - It is sharp but not convinced it remain so.

Great knife looks good works amazingly. So sharp I looked at it wrong and it cut me. (Tip - it's not stainless steel so after using put some veg oil on it to stop it rusting)

Da la impresión que cualquier cosa que cort4s sea de mantequilla... Es auténticamente un cuchillo super afilado y parece de muy buena calidad.
