Shuttlecraft Galileo - 1992 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament

It’s a classic. It’s really hard not to love the Galileo when Leonard Nimoy’s voice plays through its tiny speaker (even if the sound quality leaves a little to be desired). The nostalgia alone is worth 10x the price.

The ornament was exactly as expected

Perfect gift for Star Trek (TOS) fan. Item is brand new, was still in the sealed packaging, even with the "limited warranty through 1995" - lol. SO pleased! Delivery was fast and arrived in time for a pre-Christmas birthday, so it gets to hang on the tree this year. To note, I did have to swap out the plastic adapter to fit the light string. But, that simple swap was all it took, and it works perfectly! To explain, the plastic adapter it came with was just a bit too big to fit completely into the light socket. It would stick in a little, but not far enough to make contact. So I just unfolded the 2 wires and removed it from the original adapter, and then used the adapter for the bulb that I removed from the socket to plug it into, threaded in the wires and folded them over snugly. It was then able to fit completely into the socket and immediately lit up. For some of the reviewers who said theirs didn't work, they may want to try changing the plastic adapter to one out of their light string, as the one it comes with may just not fit correctly in their light string. I took several pictures and video of the sound, as I didn't find anything but pics of the outside of the box here on Amazon, during my search through the reviews. For 2025 we decided to add some Star Trek Hallmark Keepsake ornaments to our collection before they completely disappear from the marketplace. It has been noted that these pre-2000 Keepsake ornaments only operate with incandescent lights, not LEDs. This turned out to be true for us. However, instead of paying the crazy $200+ for an adapter (for one ornament) on auction sites, we purchased two, 35-bulb, incandescent, Christmas light strings to power our ornaments and bought them here on Amazon from a marketplace seller. All you need to do is remove a bulb from the light string, straighten the wire leads, remove the plastic connector, replace the one that comes on the Star Trek ornament with the one from the bulb, fold the wire leads back down on the sides, and plug it in to the light string. The Star Trek ornament should light up. Packaging (or instructions somewhere) indicated not to connect more than three Star Trek ornaments to one light string. The Star Trek Shuttlecraft Galileo ornament lights up in the front and back windows(?). It is also cool to press the button and hear Spock's voice and his wish for the holidays. The videos and pictures by other purchasers here accurately show the lighting we experienced. We are very pleased with our purchase.
