The hardest part of this to explain without pictures is the "stick it in your pocket feature." It's a reinforced flap on the backside that is perfectly sized to fit in the back pocket of jeans. When inserted into your pocket, the pouch supposedly does not need to be attached to your belt. The flap feels sturdy, and it is constructed in a way that makes it close onto the pocket and not just hang loosely. For quick jobs, this seems like an interesting feature, but I have yet to try it with a hammer. I would imagine if your pants are a little loose fitting, it might not function as well.I like that the belt loop snaps on and off, as I don't need a hammer loop on my tool belt constantly. The open pocket is large enough for a good amount of nails. The only weird thing is that the poly is layered around some oddly crinkly plastic that makes a lot of noise. I'm sure it's there to add durability, but it feels weird to scrunch it up. Still, at the price, it's fine.

This wouldn't be suited for a voice and data technician, but a low voltage guy that does security, fire, CCTV, etc... Would be pleased by this. It holds quite a few of the most used tools, electrical tape chain, and many small pockets for accessories. It has an over-the-belt snap on it so you can put on and take off the tool kit without taking off your belt. While convenient, it sometimes unsnaps if you seriously overweight the pocket. And I mean seriously overweight, it's fairly stout and won't just unsnap on it's own during normal use. it also as a pocket flap for putting the pouch in you butt pocket.I've used this pouch for over 3 years and I finally broke the snap loose from the fabric by putting too many tools in the pouch. It was used daily so it had roughly 1000-2000 hours of use professionally per year.Conclusion - if it fits your trade/need, buy it and you'll not be dissatisfied.

I love these things! I already had two of them, but ordered another because I misplaced one of them. I use them at work when I need to have some screws close by, or carry a tape and pencil when I'm not wearing Carhartts.NOTE: The item I received was a different (newer?) edition colored black and gray. I like the look of it, but this edition DOES NOT have the snap on the belt loop, as shown in the product photo. I use them on a belt more than half the time, and I use the snap-open belt loop to do that. This is a big change. The product photo at least should be updated!

I'm a freelance AV tech and was tired of having to deal with getting holes in my pockets from crescent wrenches and the like. However, I didn't want to deal with a typical tool belt that requires installation on the belt. The flap on this little guy is perfect: you just put the rigid flap in your back pocket and it's not going anywhere unless you catch it on something. I can show up to a gig and throw this thing on, do work, and put it back in my bag when I'm done instead of wearing some bulky toolbelt on the train.Also the one I received does not have the snap pictured on this product page, the belt loop has a sewn seam.

Bought it for my boyfriend. He likes this pouch but he isn't in live with it but on the other hand he is really particular and picky with his tool assesories so buying things for himIs really hard especially online where all you can get is a picture.Overall I think it is a nice pouch that it serves it's needs and as long as you are not very picky you are going to like it.

I use this on every job. It Carries my most common hand tools no problem. Like the way it attaches to my belt. I ended up removing the Tape carrier as it was flying all over the place (relocated that on my tool bag. Highly recommend to people who use their pockets for tools when the tool belt is too much. Great construction. Probably the only pouch I will ever buy.EDIT 12/19/12 Still works Great After over 3.5 years!!!

Small and usable; but, needs to come with manufacturer-crafted screwdriver holes, rather than those which users necessarily force through the fabric.

Big , tough and well made

I had an older one that I was replacing. sizes are not the same the velcro is not the same the pouch size is smaller. if you are hoping that this matches one you previously owned do not bother getting it. I was very dissatisfied with this product. too small, not as well made. go with a different product if I were you. fell apart after one use, as in it fell apart on my belt during the first use.
