Sam's Sneaker Squares: Measuring: Area (Math Matters ®) Paperback – August 1, 2006

My 2nd grade students loved Sam's Sneaker Squares and right after wanted to try doing what Sam did to find area. Fortunately that's what I'd prepared for us to do right after or I would have had a mutiny on my hands. My students really enjoyed Sam as a character and were able to follow along with his reasoning. This book makes me want to purchase the other books in the series.

I recently used this book to teach a lesson on area of a rectangle. The 5th grade students loved it! This is a great book for kids of all ages. It can be used as a teaching tool for perimeter and area or just as a fun book to read. I highly recommend this book for teachers and parents alike.
